Seven-year-old Toby stood on the shiny white marble floor of his family home.
His small hands were shaking as he pointed toward the wall.
A huge round steel vault door was built right into the living room wall.
His stepmother, Victoria, stood over him in a fine silk shirt.
Her eyes were cold as she glared down at the young boy.
Toby looked up at her with tears in his blue eyes.
He knew his grandfather was trapped inside that heavy dark steel room.
Victoria took a quick step forward and shoved the small boy.
Toby fell down onto the hard floor and started to cry softly.
Just then, his father Daniel came running down the long hallway.
Daniel saw his young son on the white floor crying in pain.
He dropped to his knees right away to protect his frightened child.
Daniel looked up at his wife with anger in his eyes.
He stood up slowly and placed himself between Victoria and Toby.
Victoria opened her mouth to make up another quick lie.
Daniel did not listen to any of her fast excuses.
He walked straight over to the huge steel wheel on the vault door.
He grabbed the cold metal wheel with both of his hands.
With one strong push, he turned the loud metal lock.
The massive steel door creaked open into the bright living room.
Inside the cramped steel room sat elderly Grandpa Arthur.
The poor old man was shaking on a small wooden chair.
Arthur raised his weak hands to shield his tired eyes from the light.
Daniel gasped when he saw his poor elderly father inside.
Victoria turned pale as her terrible secret was revealed to everyone.
She started stepping back toward the large open front doors.
Arthur pointed a trembling finger at the mean blonde woman.
He told his son that Victoria had forced him inside earlier that morning.
She wanted to change his secret will and steal the family estate.
Victoria claimed the old man was just confused and losing his mind.
Daniel turned around with cold anger in his dark eyes.
He could not believe his own wife would treat his family like this.
Victoria backed away until her heel caught on the edge of the rug.
She tripped and fell down onto the polished marble floor.
She looked up at her angry husband and began to weep desperately.
She begged him for mercy and asked him to forgive her mistake.
Daniel looked down at her without an ounce of pity left in his heart.
He grabbed her firmly by the wrist to keep her from running off.
He marched her straight out the front door toward the waiting police cars.
The sound of loud sirens echoed down the long neighborhood street.
Toby ran over to help his grandfather step out of the dark vault.
Arthur hugged his brave little grandson tightly near the doorway.
The police officers stepped inside and put cold handcuffs on Victoria.
She cried out as they led her down the stone front steps.
Daniel knew that his family was finally safe from her evil plans.
He promised to protect his father and son from that day forward.
They stood together in the bright sunlight, ready for a fresh start.
