FABLE

Cast Out Into The Cold

The Billionaire Stood Behind The Crying Heiress

Eleanor lunged forward, trying to snatch the probate deed from Julian's hand, but he caught her wrist in an iron grip.

Eleanor: Let go of me! Julian, I am your older sister! You cannot humiliate me in front of our family!

Julian: You stopped being my sister the minute you laid your hands on my wife.

A shockwave ripped through the grand hall. Eleanor's eyes bulged in absolute horror.

Eleanor: Wife?! You... you married this peasant?!

Julian: Emily has been my legal wife for six months. And every room in this house belongs to her.

Julian dragged Eleanor toward the towering entrance doors, her designer heels skidding uselessly against the white floor.

Eleanor: Guards! Marcus! Restrain him! He’s assaulting me!

Marcus, the head of private estate security, stepped forward, clipped his hands behind his back, and stared straight ahead.

Marcus: My orders come directly from the property owner, Mrs. Sterling. And Mrs. Emily Sterling signed my contract.

Julian hauled the screaming woman past the marble threshold and shoved her out onto the grand brick terrace.

Julian: You are going straight to federal prison! Get out of my house!

Two unmarked federal vehicles screeched to a halt at the foot of the entrance steps, their blue emergency lights reflecting across the facade.

Four federal marshals stepped out, badges gleaming in the Texas sunlight as they walked up the stone staircase.

Marshal: Eleanor Sterling? You are under arrest for federal wire fraud, grand larceny, and corporate embezzlement.

Eleanor shrieked in outrage as cold steel handcuffs snapped around her wrists.

Eleanor: Julian! Emily! You will pay for this! Do you hear me?! You will rot in hell!

Julian stepped back inside and slammed the massive double doors shut, cutting off her shrill screams with a heavy, final thud.

Silence settled over the foyer like a calming blanket.

Julian turned around, walked directly across the polished floor, and knelt down in front of Emily once more.

He gently lifted her bruised hands to his lips, kissing her knuckles as tears of relief shone in his eyes.

Julian: It's over, Emily. Nobody in this world will ever question your place in my home again.

Emily threw her arms around his neck, burying her face into his shoulder as the nightmare finally came to an end.
