Eleanor lunged forward in desperation, trying to grab Julian's arm, but he caught her wrist in an iron vise.
Eleanor: Julian, stop! Think of our family name! The board will destroy the company stock!
Julian: The board unanimously voted to remove you from the trust two hours ago.
Without hesitation, Julian hauled Eleanor across the polished floor toward the wide double doors.
Her high heels skidded uselessly on the marble, squealing against the tiles as she screamed curses at the top of her lungs.
Eleanor: Guards! Detain him! I am the lady of this estate!
Not a single guard moved. Marcus and his security detail stood at attention, watching with cold indifference.
Julian threw open the massive front entrance and cast Eleanor out onto the stone terrace in the bright Texas daylight.
Julian: Get out of my house forever!
Two marked federal police cruisers were already parked at the base of the grand staircase, their sirens echoing up the drive.
Two officers stepped forward, immediately securing Eleanor’s wrists in heavy steel handcuffs as she shrieked in outrage.
Julian slammed the towering doors shut with a thunderous crash, locking the outside world away.
He turned back to the center of the foyer where Lily sat trembling, still holding her stomach.
Julian walked over, dropping down on both knees in front of her, and gently enveloped her cold hands in his.
Julian: You and the baby are safe now, Lily. No one will ever harm you under my roof again.
Lily leaned forward into his chest, letting out deep, racking sobs of pure relief as Julian wrapped his arms tightly around her.
