Mark rushed across the polished foyer with rapid, heavy strides toward his crying family.
He knelt down instantly, pulling little Toby tightly into his strong arms.
"You are safe now, son," Mark whispered softly while checking Sarah for any injuries.
Toby wiped his tear-stained cheeks and looked up at his father with shaking shoulders.
"Daddy, she pushed the statue and blamed me!" Toby sobbed, pointing at Evelyn.
Mark stood up slowly, his body rigid with an intense, quiet power.
Evelyn smirked arrogantly, completely failing to recognize the powerful man standing before her.
"Sir, your maid and her disruptive kid just ruined an expensive heirloom," Evelyn claimed smoothly.
"I demand you fire her immediately and pay for the full damage to this property!"
Mark stepped directly into Evelyn's personal space, his eyes cold as ice.
"You dared to lay a hand on my family?" Mark spoke in a terrifying voice.
Evelyn blinked in total confusion, taking a small step back from his intense gaze.
"Your family?" Evelyn stammered out, her voice suddenly trembling just a little bit.
"She is nothing but a temporary maid hired to clean these floors for the week!"
"She is my wife!" Mark declared loudly, his voice echoing off the high ceilings.
"And I own this entire real estate development company, including this exact mansion!"
Evelyn's face drained of all color as the shocking reality hit her hard.
She looked from Mark's custom Italian suit to Sarah's simple apron in utter disbelief.
"That... that is impossible," Evelyn stuttered, trembling as her confidence vanished completely.
"She was scrubbing the baseboards like a regular hired cleaner all morning long!"
Sarah stood up proudly beside her husband, holding Toby's small hand in hers.
"Being humble does not give you the right to abuse people, Evelyn," Sarah said.
"I wanted to work hard today, but you showed your true character instead."
Mark pulled out his cell phone and quickly made a direct call to security.
"I need local authorities at the main villa entrance right now," Mark commanded sharply.
Evelyn began to panic as she realized the massive mistake she had just made.
"Please, Mr. Sterling, I did not know!" Evelyn begged, clapping her hands together.
"It was a complete misunderstanding, I swear I would never hurt anyone!"
"You put your hands on my wife and terrified my child," Mark replied coldly.
"There is no misunderstanding here, only accountability for your terrible actions."
Sirens began to wail in the distance, growing louder as they approached the gates.
Evelyn turned toward the exit, looking for any possible way to escape the situation.
Mark stepped into her path, blocking the heavy oak doors with his imposing frame.
"You are not going anywhere until the police arrive," Mark warned her firmly.
