A Betrayal Inside The Family

A Father Finds a Hidden Wall Safe Behind His Wardrobe

The police dispatcher answered the call on the third loud ring.

David spoke clearly and quickly into the microphone of his phone.

David: My wife was trapped in our home by my brother Julian.

David: He stole legal papers and headed toward the downtown bank downtown.

The officer promised to send a patrol car to the house immediately.

David hung up the phone and looked back at his wife Sarah.

She was holding Mia close while drinking a cool glass of water.

Sarah: He brought a large envelope and made me sign a release form.

David: Did you sign anything, Sarah? Tell me the truth.

Sarah: I signed it because he threatened to lock me away longer.

David felt his stomach drop as he realized the full legal scope.

If Julian had a signed release form, the bank would transfer funds.

The trust fund held over two million dollars from their parents' life insurance.

That money was supposed to pay for Mia's future college fund.

David: I have to go to the downtown branch right now before he signs.

Sarah: Please be careful, David. He was extremely desperate and angry.

David grabbed his car keys from the wooden kitchen counter top.

He kissed Mia on the forehead and looked her in the eyes.

David: Stay inside with Mommy until the police officers arrive here.

Mia: Okay Daddy, please bring Uncle Julian back to say sorry.

David nodded grimly and walked quickly out to his SUV parked outside.

He started the engine and drove fast toward the center of town.

The streetlights flashed past as he sped down the highway lanes.

His mind raced with memories of growing up alongside his brother Julian.

Julian had always felt bitter about their father's last financial decisions.

Their father left the primary house mortgage and business control to David.

Julian had lost his own savings in risky online investments last year.

Now he was taking desperate measures to fix his own heavy debts.

David pulled his SUV into the busy parking lot of First National Bank.

He spotted Julian's sleek silver sedan parked right near the front doors.

David parked his car haphazardly across two empty yellow parking spaces.

He stepped out of the vehicle and marched toward the glass entrance.

Through the glass windows, he saw Julian standing at the manager counter.

Julian was holding a thick manila folder in his gloved right hand.

A female bank officer was typing slowly on her computer desktop screen.

David pushed the heavy glass doors open with a loud thud.

The cool air-conditioned air of the lobby hit his warm face instantly.

David: Stop that transaction right now! That man is a criminal!

Julian spun around quickly, his face turning pale with absolute shock.

Julian: David?! How did you... how are you even here right now?!

David: We found Sarah locked behind the wardrobe, you sick coward!

The bank manager looked up from her desk screen with wide eyes.

Bank Manager: Is there a problem here, gentlemen? Should I call security?

David: Yes! Call the police immediately! He forced my wife to sign papers!

Julian grabbed the folder off the counter and stepped back quickly.

Julian: He is lying! These are official family trust documents signed today!

David: You trapped my wife in a hidden safe to steal our inheritance!

Julian backed away toward the side exit door of the bank lobby.

Customers stopped to watch the loud confrontation happening in front of them.

Julian: Father promised me half of that estate before he passed away!

David: Father knew you would gamble it all away, just like this!

Julian reached for the brass handle of the side emergency door.

The red alarm siren began to wail loudly throughout the building.
