Mark stood up slowly from the marble floor while holding Sarah safely behind his back.
His eyes were fixed tightly on Victoria as his fists clenched at his sides in rage.
The peaceful morning light suddenly felt icy cold and suffocating inside the grand open house.
Mark: How could you ever do something so cruel to a helpless little girl?
Victoria crossed her arms across her chest and adjusted her dark red fitted dress calmly.
Victoria: She was throwing a terrible tantrum and would not listen to my clear rules.
Mark took a fast aggressive step toward Victoria as his breathing became heavy and loud.
Mark: She is four years old, Victoria, and you used sharp metal scissors on her hair!
Victoria: I am the adult in this house when you are away at your busy office work.
Sarah clung tightly to the back of her father's dark navy trousers while crying softly.
Mark felt a fierce protective instinct rise up deep inside his chest in that heavy silence.
He reached down and gently scooped his crying daughter up into his strong arms again.
He wiped the wet salty tears from her soft cheeks using the thumb of his hand.
Mark: You will never touch my daughter ever again as long as I am still breathing.
Victoria laughed softly and rolled her eyes as if the situation meant nothing at all.
Victoria: You are overreacting over a simple haircut that will easily grow back very soon.
Mark walked toward the heavy oak front doors of the mansion with quick confident steps.
He set Sarah down gently on the plush velvet bench near the front coat closet.
Mark: Stay right here, sweetheart, while I take care of this problem once and for all.
Sarah nodded her small head and wiped her nose with the sleeve of her dress.
Mark turned back toward Victoria with an absolute look of quiet determination on his face.
He marched directly over to where Victoria was standing near the center marble coffee table.
Mark: Your belongings do not matter to me right now because you are leaving immediately.
Victoria's smug expression instantly faded into total shock as she heard his cold stern tone.
Victoria: You cannot just throw me out of this house without talking about this first!
Mark grabbed her firmly by the arm and pointed straight toward the large double exit doors.
Mark: Get out of my house right now and never step foot on this property again!
Victoria tried to pull her arm away, but Mark held his firm grip without letting go.
He guided her quickly across the wide marble foyer toward the bright open doorway outside.
Victoria gasped in total disbelief as she realized he was completely serious about kicking her out.
Victoria: You are making the biggest mistake of your entire life right now, Mark!
Mark reached out and pulled the heavy oak door completely open with one swift pull.
He pushed Victoria firmly out onto the concrete driveway under the bright morning sunlight.
Mark: The mistake was ever letting a monster like you into my daughter's innocent life.
He slammed the massive front door shut with a loud boom that echoed everywhere.
