Justice at the Altar

A Hidden Envelope Exposed the Bride at the Altar

Mark reached into his pocket and pulled out his private cell phone immediately.

He didn't hesitate for a single second as he dialed his lead corporate attorney.

He also made a direct call to the local police department chief he knew well.

He had already asked officers to stand outside regarding high-value security checks.

Mark: The wedding is over right now!

Victoria grabbed his arm tight, her sharp polished nails digging into his suit sleeve.

Victoria: You need me to win that huge corporate merger next month!

Mark: Get your hands off me right now.

Two uniformed police officers pushed open the heavy oak doors and stepped forward briskly.

They walked down the aisle, their heavy leather boots echoing through the quiet chapel.

Mark pointed a stern finger directly at Victoria's angry, pale face.

Mark: Officers, take her away!

Victoria: Mark, please don't do this!

The lead officer pulled out a pair of shiny steel handcuffs from his belt.

Officer: Victoria Vance, you are under arrest for extortion and illegal bank fraud.

Victoria screamed loud as the cold metal locked around her small wrists.

Her expensive white veil fell off her head, landing flat on the dusty floor.

The guests pulled out their cell phones, recording every single second of her public humiliation.

Her rich friends turned their heads away, refusing to make any eye contact with her.

The officers led her out of the grand ballroom as she begged for forgiveness.

Mark knelt down on the soft red carpet, wrapping both arms around his young daughter.

Mark: I am so sorry I didn't listen to you sooner, Lily.

Lily: I just wanted to protect you and remember Mom's love.

Mark kissed the top of her head, feeling a massive weight lift off his shoulders.

They walked out of the church together into the bright, clear morning light, finally free.
