The Secret Leather Folder

A Man Finds His Missing Family Locked Inside His Villa

Victoria backed out into the hallway as Sean reached the top of the stone stairs.

He slammed the basement door behind him but did not lock it again.

Sean: What is in that folder, Victoria?

Victoria: Sean, please just let me explain everything calmly before you judge me.

Sean: You locked my elderly parents in a cell!

Victoria pulled the black leather folder tighter against her dark red dress.

She looked around the empty foyer as if hoping someone would step in to save her.

Sean snatched the folder directly out of her hands before she could run away.

Victoria gasped and made a quick move to grab it back from him.

Sean pushed past her and flipped open the heavy leather cover near the front door.

Inside were several legal papers stamped with official red seals from the county court.

His eyes scanned the top document, reading his own father's forged signature.

The document transferred the entire family estate and villa directly into Victoria's name.

Another paper gave her full control over the million-dollar life insurance policies.

Sean felt a wave of nausea hit him as he realized the truth of the situation.

Sean: You forged their signatures on these legal land deeds!

Victoria: They were ruining our future, Sean!

Sean: They built this entire business with their own sweat and tears!

Victoria: Your father was going to change the will and leave us nothing!

Sean looked at the woman he had married just six months ago with total disgust.

He pulled his smartphone from his coat pocket with a trembling hand.

Victoria rushed forward and grabbed his arm with both hands, her long nails digging in.

Victoria: If you call the police, you lose everything we worked for!

Sean yanked his arm out of her grip with a sharp gesture.

Sean: You are out of your mind if you think I care about money now.

He dialed nine-one-one and pressed the speaker button while holding the folder under his arm.

The operator's voice filled the high-ceilinged foyer with crisp clarity.

Sean: I need emergency officers at my address immediately for false imprisonment.

Victoria turned around and bolted down the long hallway toward the garage door.

Sean did not bother to chase her as he gave the operator his exact address.

He knew the automatic gates at the end of the long driveway were closed tight.

He walked quickly down to the kitchen to find a tool to free his parents.

He grabbed a heavy steel crowbar from the utility closet near the pantry door.

His father called out his name again from the bottom of the basement stairs.

Sean ran back down the stone steps with the heavy tool in his hands.

Sean: Hold on, Dad, I am going to get you both out right now!
