Sarah rushed down the center aisle of the auditorium without stopping for anyone today.
Her heart pounded heavily inside her chest as she saw her son on his knees.
She climbed the small side stairs leading straight onto the high wooden school stage.
Sarah: Take your hands off my child right now, Evelyn Vance!
Mrs. Vance: Keep your distance, woman, unless you want to lose your job!
Sarah: I do not care about your money or your cheap threats anymore!
Sarah grabbed Evelyn wrist and forced her to release her tight hold on Lucas hair.
Lucas scrambled backward on the floor and wiped the heavy tears from his face quickly.
Sarah pulled her son up and placed herself right between him and Evelyn Vance.
Mrs. Vance: Your son ruined my boy custom jacket with his dirty hands!
Sarah: He is a child who earned his place on this stage today!
Tyler: He stepped on my shoes first, Mom, make them pay for it!
Sarah: You are the one stepping on his hard work with your boots!
Sarah bent down and picked up the dirty diploma from beneath Tyler heavy shoe.
She brushed off the dust gently and held the paper close to her heart.
The crowd began to whisper loudly as people pulled out their mobile phones to record.
Evelyn Vance noticed the glowing phone cameras and her face turned bright red with anger.
Mrs. Vance: Put those phones away immediately or I will sue every single one!
Sarah: Let them record every single piece of your disgusting cruelty today!
Principal Miller: Ladies, please calm down so we can finish the graduation ceremony!
Sarah: You let this rich woman abuse my son on your stage, Principal!
Principal Miller: Mrs. Vance is a board member and major sponsor of our school!
Sarah: That does not give her the right to destroy my son dignity!
Evelyn Vance raised her hand in anger to slap Sarah across her face hard.
Sarah caught her arm firmly mid-air and pushed her back three whole steps easily.
Evelyn stumbled back and nearly tripped over the podium wire behind her feet.
Mrs. Vance: You will regret touching me, you poor pathetic excuse for a mother!
Sarah: I am a mother who protects her son from monsters like you!
A loud officer voice suddenly rang out from the back of the large auditorium doors.
Two police officers walked quickly down the main aisle toward the crowded stage area.
