Forced to Shave Her Head on Her Wedding Day

Evelyn: Commercial foreclosures?! Julian, is your company going under?!

Julian: Shut up, Mom! Just let me handle this!

Clara: He needed this wedding today, Evelyn. Not to show off to his friends, but because the trust disbursement of one point two million dollars requires proof of a legally married nuclear household before October first!

Julian: Clara, please... don't do this. We can talk about this in private!

Clara: Private? You slammed me against a table, threw my ring, and threatened to ruin my financial life in front of your seven-year-old child and your toxic mother!

Julian: I lost my head! I was under so much financial pressure, Clara! The bank is going to freeze my assets if I don't show them the trust agreement by Friday!

Clara: That's not my problem anymore, Julian.

Clara reached out, grabbed her smartphone from the vanity, and tapped the screen twice. She pressed speakerphone, holding it up so every person in the room could hear the clear dial tone reverberating across the quiet suite.

Marcus (Voice on phone): Clara? Are you okay? I'm downstairs near the garden entrance. The venue staff said the ceremony is delayed.

Clara: Marcus, I need you to come up to the main bridal suite right now. Bring your briefcase.

Marcus (Voice on phone): Is Julian causing problems?

Clara: He just assault-grabbed my wrist, threw my ring, and tried to force me into a fraudulent marriage to clear his construction debt using his daughter's trust fund.

Marcus (Voice on phone): I'm coming up right now. Don't touch anything in that room, and don't sign a single paper. I have two officers from the county sheriff's department standing right next to me in the lobby.

Julian: Sheriff's department?! Clara, are you insane?! You're going to ruin my life!

Clara: You ruined your own life the second you treated me like a pawn in your financial scam.

Julian dropped to his knees in the middle of the floor, grabbing at the hem of her white dress, his voice cracking with desperation.

Julian: Clara, please! Think about Lily! If I lose custody, she goes to her maternal aunt in California! You love her, don't you?!

Clara: I loved the little girl I thought was being abused by life. But I see now that you are teaching her how to turn into a monster just like you and your mother.

Evelyn: How dare you call my granddaughter a monster!

Clara: She lied straight to her father's face to get me humiliated because you taught her that people below your wealth status are disposable. She needs professional psychological help, Julian, not a fake mother to satisfy a court judge!

Heavy footsteps echoed down the hallway outside. Heavy knocks rattled the door, followed by a firm, authoritative voice that made Evelyn gasp and grab her pearl necklace.

Officer: Police department! Open the door!
