FABLE

Justice Served Cold

Locked Inside the Family Vault

Daniel: Hear those sirens outside, Victoria? That's the sound of your freedom ending.

Victoria: Daniel, I'm begging you! Don't let them take me out in handcuffs in front of the neighbors!

Daniel: You showed no mercy to an old man or a little boy. You get no mercy today.

The heavy front doors swung open as four police officers rushed into the grand foyer, their badges flashing under the bright lights. Right behind them was Harrison, the family wealth manager, already handcuffed and flanked by federal agents.

Police Officer: Daniel Sterling? We received a 911 call regarding senior abuse and unlawful imprisonment.

Daniel: Officer, that woman right there locked my 78-year-old father inside a steel vault and assault my eight-year-old son.

Victoria: It's a misunderstanding! It was an accident! I was trying to protect him!

Harrison: She made me do it, officers! She threatened to expose my previous financial mistakes if I didn't help her clear the bank accounts!

Victoria: You coward! You rat! You were in on this from the very beginning!

Police Officer: Both of you keep quiet! Hands behind your back, ma'am!

The officer roughly pulled Victoria to her feet, snapping metal handcuffs tightly around her wrists. She screamed and writhed, but the officers held her firm, dragging her toward the door.

Daniel: YOU ARE GOING STRAIGHT TO FEDERAL PRISON!

Victoria: DANIEL! HELP ME! TOBY, TELL THEM I WAS NICE TO YOU!

Toby: You locked my Grandpa in a box. I never want to see you again.

Arthur: Take them away, Officer. The footage on the server room computer will give you all the evidence you need.

Police Officer: We'll take it from here, Mr. Sterling. An ambulance is arriving to check on your father's physical condition.

Daniel: Thank you, Officer. Make sure they both face the absolute maximum sentence under the law.

As the police vehicles drove away into the night, their red and blue lights fading down the long driveway, a deep hush fell over the Sterling estate. Daniel walked over to his father and wrapped his arm around the old man's shoulders, while Toby held his grandfather's hand tightly.

Arthur: It's finally over, son. The dark cloud over this house is gone.

Daniel: Yes, Dad. It's over. We're safe now, and no one will ever break this family apart again.

Toby: We did it, Dad. We saved Grandpa together.

Daniel: Yes we did, buddy. Yes we did.
