The Arrival Of The Law

My Husband's Secret Daughter Showed Up At Our Wedding

Within minutes, two police cruisers pulled up to the chapel doors, light bars flashing red and blue against the wet stained glass. Four armed officers burst into the church, guns unholstered as they saw the chaotic scene.

Police Officer: Nobody move! Hands where we can see them!

Brother: Officer, over here! We have the suspect pinned down! He's running an illegal kidnapping and financial fraud ring!

David: Officer, help me! These people assaulted me at my own wedding! They're delusional!

Clara: Officer, my name is Clara Jenkins. This man held my missing husband, Michael Jenkins, captive for five years to steal his corporate estate and trust fund. Michael died yesterday under suspicious circumstances at a property outside the city.

The lead officer looked at me, then at the little girl trembling beside me, holding the wet envelope and the USB drive.

Police Officer: Michael Jenkins? The open missing person and grand larceny case from Dallas five years ago?

Clara: Yes! Here is the evidence, signed checks, and a flash drive containing financial logs and video footage from the facility where he was kept!

The officer took the plastic-wrapped USB drive from Lily's hands and inspected it closely before looking down at David, who was still squirming on the floor.

Police Officer: Cuff him. Call the detective unit and dispatch a forensics team to the old mill site immediately.

David: You can't arrest me based on the words of a child and a fake drive! I have a high-powered defense attorney! I have rights!

Police Officer: You have the right to remain silent, Mr. Vance. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.

As the officers pulled David to his feet and snapped metal handcuffs around his wrists, the wedding guests began to clap and shout in anger. David glared at me with pure hatred as he was led down the aisle, his pristine tuxedo now filthy and ruined.
