Mark rushed out through the back glass doors after hearing the sudden commotion.
He saw the tipped carriage floating near the center of the deep pool.
Without a single second of hesitation, Mark sprinted across the stone deck.
He dove straight into the water while still wearing his custom suit.
The cold water surged around him as he kicked hard toward his son.
He pulled the small child safely into his arms within seconds.
Mark swam back to the steps and lifted the baby out carefully.
He held the infant tightly against his chest, checking his breathing.
The baby coughed once and then began to cry loudly in relief.
Elena crawled over to Mark while wiping tears from her cheeks.
She looked up at him, her voice trembling from pure adrenaline and fear.
Mark dropped to his knees beside her on the wet marble patio.
He asked Elena if she was okay after taking such a hard fall.
Elena pointed a shaking finger directly at Victoria, who stood near the doorway.
She told Mark that Victoria had started the violent argument on purpose.
Elena explained how Victoria shoved her aside right next to the pool edge.
Mark turned his head slowly to glare at his stepmother with deep anger.
Victoria backed away instantly, raising her hands to defend herself verbally.
She claimed that the entire event was nothing more than a terrible accident.
She insisted that she would never intentionally hurt her own grandchild.
Mark stood up slowly, handing his son carefully over to Elena's arms.
He told Elena to take the baby inside where it was safe.
His face showed total betrayal as he took three big steps toward Victoria.
