Victoria's heels skidded frantically against the marble floor, leaving long brown streaks through the ruined birthday cake.
Victoria: Richard, let me go! You are committing battery!
Richard: I am removing a trespassing criminal from my private property!
Elena: Under Texas penal code chapter nine, property owners possess full legal authority to physically eject trespassers who refuse lawful orders to vacate.
Victoria: I live here! My clothes are upstairs! My passport is in the master bedroom!
Elena: Your belongings have already been packed into sixteen standard storage boxes. They are currently being loaded onto a freight van parked outside the service gates.
Victoria's face turned completely red with pure rage, her voice screeching across the high ceilings.
Victoria: You had no right to touch my designer clothes! Those bags cost twenty thousand dollars each!
Richard: Purchased with funds stolen from my daughter's college trust fund!
Victoria: I earned that lifestyle! I put up with you and your annoying kid for months!
Richard dragged her past the grand archway, stopping just ten feet inside the enormous front double doors.
Richard: You are going straight to federal prison!
Victoria: Federal prison? For what? A domestic disagreement over a stupid birthday cake?
Elena: For wire fraud exceeding two million dollars across state banking lines, Victoria. That carries a mandatory minimum of ten years in a federal correctional facility.
Victoria: You don't have the proof! A few bank statements won't hold up in front of a jury!
Elena: We have your brother's confession. He cooperated with federal investigators two hours ago in exchange for a plea deal.
Victoria froze in place, her eyes widening in absolute shock.
Victoria: Marcus? Marcus would never talk to the feds!
Elena: Marcus folded the moment agents showed up at his office in Miami. He gave up every account number, every password, and the safety deposit box in Dallas.
Victoria: That coward! That pathetic little coward!
Richard: The only coward in this room is the grown woman who shoved a ten-year-old child to the floor because she couldn't control her temper.
Victoria tried to pull her arm free, but Richard held her wrist with iron strength, not flinching an inch.
Victoria: Richard, please... think about your public reputation! The press will destroy the company stock if this hits the news tomorrow morning!
Richard: I don't care about the stock price. I care about my family.
Victoria: We can settle this quietly! Let me take my luggage and drive to the airport! You will never hear from me again!
Richard: You thought you could walk into my home, rob my daughter blind, abuse her behind closed doors, and just walk away with a boarding pass?
Victoria: I made a mistake! People make mistakes when they are under stress!
Richard: Shoving Lily was not a mistake. That was who you really are when nobody is watching.
Elena checked her wristwatch, stepping toward the large brass handles of the front doors.
Elena: They are right on schedule, Richard.
Victoria: Who is on schedule? Who did you call?
The sound of heavy squad car engines rumbled up the long paved driveway, gravel crunching under heavy tires as flashing red and blue lights illuminated the frosted glass windows.
Victoria: No... no! Richard, please! Cancel the call!
Richard: It is far too late for that.
Elena pulled the double doors completely open, letting the hot Texas summer wind rush straight into the air-conditioned hall.
