The mansion was filled with mourners dressed in black. At the center of the room stood a white coffin surrounded by flowers, while family members quietly watched one another.
Among them was Elena, a young woman whose face was covered with tears. She had barely entered the room before she rushed toward the coffin.
Elena: I need to say goodbye one more time.
She placed both hands on the coffin and began to cry. Several guests looked away, unable to watch her pain.
But across the room, Daniel stared at her with anger instead of sympathy.
Daniel: How could you come here after everything you did?
Elena slowly turned around. Her expression showed confusion and fear.
Elena: Daniel, I came because I loved him too.
Daniel stepped closer, and the room became completely silent.
Daniel: You don't get to pretend nothing happened.
An older family member quickly moved between them before the argument could grow.
Richard: This is a funeral. Whatever happened can wait.
Elena wiped her tears and looked toward the coffin again.
Elena: It cannot wait anymore.
Everyone turned toward her.
She reached into her coat and pulled out a small envelope. Her hands were shaking as she held it tightly.
Elena: He left this for the family.
Richard's expression changed immediately.
Richard: Where did you get that?
Elena: He gave it to me the night before he died.
The room erupted in whispers.
