Arthur: Police? Mother, why are there police outside?
Margaret: Stay calm, Arthur! They can't do anything to us! This is private property!
Clara: It was private property until I submitted the original audio recording to the district attorney yesterday morning.
Margaret: Audio recording? What recording?
Clara: The voice recording from the night Charles passed away in his hospital room. The one where you told the lawyer to sign his name while he was unconscious.
A heavy, suffocating silence fell over the foyer. Guests looked at each other in utter disbelief, stepping away from Margaret and Arthur.
Guest 3: My goodness... Margaret forged the signature?
Guest 4: I knew something was wrong when Charles passed so suddenly. This is appalling!
Margaret: Shut up! All of you, shut up! You know nothing about what I went through to keep this family together!
Clara: You didn't keep the family together. You kept the money for yourself and left your husband's real daughter to rot.
Arthur: Clara, please... I didn't know about any forged signature! I swear I didn't know!
Clara: You signed as a witness, Arthur. Your handwriting is right on the second page of the fake will.
Arthur: My mother told me it was just a routine power of attorney document! I didn't read it!
Margaret: You coward! How dare you throw your own mother under the bus to save yourself!
Arthur: You lied to me, Mom! You told me Father wanted everything left in your name!
Clara: Neither of you cared about what Charles wanted. You only cared about maintaining your fake luxury lifestyle at the expense of his memory.
The heavy oak double doors of the foyer pushed open, and two uniformed police officers accompanied by a man in a sharp grey suit walked into the house.
Prosecutor: Margaret Sterling? Arthur Sterling?
Margaret: This is a private party! How dare you enter my home without an invitation!
Prosecutor: This is no longer your home, ma'am. I have a court order seizing this property and an arrest warrant for grand fraud and forgery.
