Officer Miller: "Is everything under control here, Mr. Sterling?"
Julian: "Officers, thank you for coming so quickly. This woman assaulted my wife and attempted to endanger our infant son."
Victoria: "Officer, they're lying! Check the cameras! She hit me first!"
Officer Miller: "Ma'am, quiet down. We've already reviewed the live stream feed sent to our dispatch."
Victoria froze. Her lips parted, but no sound came out.
Chloe: "Our entire house is monitored by high-definition security systems connected directly to our private security agency."
Victoria: "You... you recorded me?"
Chloe: "Every second. We saw you enter the nursery without permission. We saw you grab the baby. And we saw you strike me."
Officer Miller: "Victoria Vance, you are under arrest for domestic assault, child endangerment, and trespassing. Put your hands behind your back."
Victoria: "Trespassing?! I was invited here by my brother! He’s marrying into this estate!"
Julian: "I am not your brother, Victoria. And the marriage contract you thought you were signing was revoked three weeks ago."
Victoria: "What are you talking about? My father signed the merger agreements!"
Julian: "Your father signed a confession admitting to tax fraud and embezzlement from Chloe’s inheritance fund."
The police officer pulled Victoria's hands behind her back and clicked the metal cuffs into place. Victoria whimpered as the realization hit her.
Victoria: "You... you knew? All this time?"
Chloe: "We wanted to see how far you would go. We wanted to see if there was a single ounce of decency in your heart before we handed the evidence to the district attorney."
Victoria: "Chloe, please! I was just stressed! My family is losing everything!"
Chloe: "You lost everything because of your own greed. You treated people like garbage because you thought money made you superior."
Officer Miller: "Let's go, ma'am. You can explain it to the judge."
The officers led a weeping Victoria down the marble steps toward the waiting police cruiser. As the doors clicked shut, the driveway fell quiet once again.
Julian: "Are you okay, darling?"
Chloe: "I'm okay. But it's time we finish the rest of this legal process."
Julian: "The lawyers are already waiting in the study. The entire Vance estate will be seized by sunset."
Chloe looked down at her son, who had finally stopped crying and was resting peacefully against her neck.
Chloe: "Let's make sure they never hurt anyone again."
