The sound of flashing police lights swept across the high windows of the Dallas mansion as squad cars pulled up the driveway. Inside, the gala guests gathered near the archways, whispering in hush tones as officers entered the grand foyer.
Officer Miller: Ma'am, we received a call regarding a corporate theft attempt and illegal trespassing.
Evelyn: Yes, Officer. Right this way. The two individuals responsible are inside my private study.
Richard walked out into the foyer, trying to keep his posture upright in front of the city's most influential board members and corporate leaders.
Richard: Officers, this is a massive misunderstanding! My wife is emotional over a personal marital dispute.
Evelyn: It’s not a dispute, Richard. It’s an active fraud case. Officer, this man attempted to forge my signature on asset transfer documents to steal my inheritance.
Victoria: I am a licensed attorney! I was simply representing my client's interest in a corporate acquisition!
Arthur: Not anymore, Victoria. My name is Arthur Vance, lead counsel for the estate. I’ve already contacted the State Bar Association to report your ethical violations and criminal conspiracy.
Victoria: What? You can't do that! I didn't sign anything yet!
Arthur: We have audio recordings of you conspiring to steal majority shares from a family trust fund while knowingly trespassing on private property.
Richard: Evelyn, look at me! You can't throw away seven years of marriage over a mistake!
Evelyn: You didn't make a mistake, Richard. You made a calculation. And you calculated wrong.
Officer Miller: Richard Hayes and Victoria Vance, please step forward and put your hands behind your back.
Richard: You can't arrest me in my own house!
Evelyn: It was never your house, Richard. Check the deed. It’s held entirely in my pre-marital trust fund.
The crowd of guests gasped as the officers placed handcuffs on Richard and Victoria, leading them toward the massive double doors of the estate entrance.
Victoria: Richard, do something! You said she wouldn't fight back!
Richard: Evelyn, please! Call your lawyer off! Don't do this to me!
Evelyn stood tall in her sparkling dress, holding her chin high as her cheating husband was marched out in front of the entire Dallas high-society crowd.
Evelyn: Take them away, Officer.
