The quiet afternoon inside the towering suburban estate shattered the second a piercing cry echoed from the upper level. Up on the marble balcony overlooking the central grand foyer, ten stories above the polished floor, a silhouette stood against the ornate railing. It was Patricia, holding a tiny, trembling one-year-old child over the drop.
Down below, the household staff froze in sheer terror. Among them was Elena, a young maid who had worked tirelessly for the family, her hands still carrying the damp residue of cleaning polish. She didn't hesitate. She didn't call out. She instinctively sprinted toward the center of the hall, positioning herself directly beneath the ledge.
Patricia: "GET OUT OF MY LIFE!"
A horrific sound filled the air as Patricia unclasped her fingers, letting the infant fall into empty space. The child plummeted through the air, small arms flailing. Elena tracked the falling figure, adjusted her stance on the slick white marble, and threw her arms open wide.
With a heavy, breath-stealing impact, Elena caught the baby girl tightly against her chest, tumbling onto the floor to absorb the shock. She wrapped her entire body around the crying infant, safeguarding her from the hard surface. Upstairs, Patricia watched in stunned silence, her face twisting into a scowl of frustration.
Before anyone could breathe, the massive double entrance doors slammed open with a violent bang. David, the child's father and head of the estate, rushed inside, his coat half-unbuttoned and eyes wide with panic. He took one look at Elena lying on the floor, clutching his crying daughter, and his face turned pale white.
David: "WHAT HAPPENED?!"
Elena: "SHE THREW HER DOWN FROM THE TENTH FLOOR!"
David looked up at the balcony, seeing his wife standing near the railing with a cold, unbothered expression. A wave of pure fury washed over him, setting into motion a sequence of events that would tear the wealthy family's secrets wide open.
