Victoria: Mark, please! We can fix this! We’re a family! Think about our reputation in Dallas! Think about the charity foundation!

Mark: Your reputation? You cared more about your reputation than our baby's life and an innocent girl's survival. You are sick, Victoria.

Elena: Mrs. Vance, I would have never told anyone... if you had just admitted the truth, I would have kept my mouth shut to protect your family. But you tried to destroy my life.

Victoria: Shut up, Elena! Mark, you can't believe her! She’s just a maid! You’re going to ruin our marriage over a hired servant?!

Mark: She isn't just a maid, Victoria. She’s the reason our daughter is still breathing today. And as for our marriage... it’s over.

Victoria gasped, taking a step back on the stairs as she clutched her pearl necklace.

Victoria: You can't divorce me! My father owns half the shares in your legal firm! I’ll take everything you have! I’ll take the house, the money, and full custody of Lily!

Mark: Try it. I am a senior corporate litigation attorney, Victoria. I have video proof of severe child endangerment, reckless conduct, and filing a false police report. If you fight me on custody or the prenup, I will submit this footage to the District Attorney's office and have you arrested for criminal child neglect.

Victoria’s jaw trembled. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. For the first time in her life, her wealth and status could not save her from her own cruel choices. She realized she had lost completely.

Mark: You have until tomorrow morning to pack your bags and get out of my house. My divorce lawyer will serve you the papers at your father’s estate by noon.

Victoria turned around without saying another word and ran up the stairs, slamming the master bedroom door behind her.

I turned to Elena, taking a deep breath as the weight of the evening settled on my shoulders. I pulled my checkbook from my jacket pocket, signed a check, and handed it to her.

Mark: Elena, this is a check for fifty thousand dollars. It will cover your mother’s medical treatment completely.

Elena: Mr. Vance... no, I can't accept this... this is too much money!

Mark: You saved my daughter’s life today. No amount of money can ever repay that. And if you’re willing, I want to double your salary and hire you as Lily’s full-time guardian and estate manager. You will never have to worry about your job or your family's safety ever again.

Tears flooded Elena’s eyes once more, but this time, they were tears of pure relief and joy. She held her hands over her chest and nodded softly.

Elena: Thank you, Mr. Vance... thank you so much. I will protect Lily with my life.

Three months later, the divorce was finalized smoothly. Victoria lost full custody of Lily and was ordered to complete community service for filing a false report. Elena moved into a comfortable guest house on the estate, where her mother received the best medical care available in Texas. As I watched Elena playing happily with Lily in the sunny backyard garden, I knew that justice had finally prevailed, and my baby was safe with the true guardian who saved her life.
