Uncovering the Secret

The Maid Who Saved the Heir

The foyer was heavy with a suffocating tension. David reached the bottom step, his breathing harsh as he pointed directly at Victoria. Arthur stood near the front door, his firm expression showing that he had no intention of letting Victoria walk out into the driveway.

Arthur: David, explain to me quickly what happened before the authorities arrive.

David: She threw Lily over the tenth-floor balcony railing. Elena caught her on the main floor floor just in time.

Arthur: Dear God... is the baby unharmed?

David: She's safe with Elena in the study. I dialed 911 immediately.

Victoria: This is a setup! David wanted to divorce me without giving me my share of the estate, so he staged this entire event with his servant!

Arthur: Victoria, calm yourself. As the family trust lawyer, I must inform you that making false statements right now will only worsen your legal position.

Victoria: I am his legal wife! I have rights to half of this property and half of his business holdings!

Arthur: Actually, Victoria, that brings me to the exact reason I came over today. I received a private investigation report three hours ago regarding your background disclosures.

Victoria's eyes went wide, and her frantic demeanor instantly stiffened into absolute silence. She took a half-step back toward the luxury console table, clutching her purse tightly against her stomach.

David: What background disclosures, Arthur? What are you talking about?

Arthur: When you married Victoria six months ago, she signed a prenuptial agreement stating she had no previous marriages, no undisclosed liabilities, and no criminal history. Is that correct?

David: Yes. That was a mandatory condition for joining this family and becoming a beneficiary on my estate policies.

Arthur: Well, my investigation team uncovered that Victoria's real name is Victoria Vance. She was previously married in Florida under a different identity, where she was investigated for the mysterious disappearance of her late husband's life insurance payout.

David: What?! A fraudulent identity?!

Victoria: That's a complete lie! Those records were expunged! You had no right to look into my past!

Arthur: Expunged or not, lying on your prenuptial financial disclosure constitutes fraud in the inducement. That single act completely voids your prenuptial agreement and revokes every claim you have to David's fortune, estate, or insurance policies.

David: You married me just to clear my accounts and get rid of my daughter...

Victoria: You don't deserve all this wealth, David! You spent all your time mourning your late wife while I sat in this empty mansion like a decoration!

David: You are a monster. You manipulated your way into my home, gained my trust, and then attempted to murder an innocent child for money!

Victoria: I deserved that money! I earned it by pretending to care about you and your pathetic baby!

The study door clicked open slowly. Elena stepped out into the hallway, holding baby Lily wrapped in a warm blanket. The baby was calm now, resting her little hand against Elena's collarbone. Elena looked directly at Victoria with fierce determination in her eyes.

Elena: You didn't just lie about your identity, Victoria. You forgot about the security cameras installed last week.

Victoria: What... what security cameras?!

Elena: Mr. David had the internal security upgraded last Tuesday. There is a high-definition camera pointing directly at the tenth-floor balcony area.
