Marcus: That's confidential corporate documentation! How did you get access to internal board communications?
Elena: When you buy controlling equity in a firm, Marcus, you get access to all internal servers. You forgot that IT administrators keep permanent backups of deleted cloud servers.
Victoria: Marcus... tell me she's lying! Tell me you didn't steal money from the company!
Marcus: Victoria, get away from me! You and your father dragged me into this mess!
Victoria: Dragged you into this? You begged my father to approve your promotion to managing director! You proposed to me because you wanted a seat on the board!
Marcus: And now your father is going to prison, and you don't have a single dollar to your name! The engagement is over, Victoria!
The crowd gasped louder this time. Victoria stood completely alone in the middle of the room, her high-society friends whispering behind their hands, holding up their phones to record every single second of her public humiliation.
Victoria: You... you all were praising me ten minutes ago! You were drinking my wine and complimenting my dress!
Guest 3: It wasn't your wine, Victoria. It belongs to the Sterling estate now.
Elena: I suggest everyone who doesn't want their names listed in a federal subpoena finish their drinks and head toward the elevators immediately.
Within seconds, the glamorous guests began rushing toward the exit doors, tripping over each other's formal gowns in a desperate attempt to leave the penthouse before federal authorities arrived upstairs.
Victoria: Wait! Don't go! The party isn't over! Marcus, don't leave me here!
Marcus turned his back on her without saying another word, slipping through the crowd of exiting guests and disappearing into the private elevator bank, leaving Victoria entirely alone on the dance floor.
Victoria: You ruined my life! You came here into my house and took everything away from me in front of everyone I know!
Elena: You ruined your own life, Victoria. My father worked thirty years to build this company, and when he was dying in a hospital bed, your father cut off his health insurance to force him into signing over his equity shares.
Victoria: I didn't know anything about health insurance! I was just a teenager when that happened!
Elena: But when you grew up, you used that stolen wealth to treat everyone around you like garbage. You kicked a maid's apron tonight just to show off for a room full of fake friends.
