The man stepped between them.
Man: Stand back. She is innocent!
The blonde woman stared at him in disbelief.
Blonde Woman: You are taking her side?
Man: I'm taking the side of the person who needs help.
The younger woman slowly stood up.
Young Woman: I tried to tell the truth, but nobody believed me.
The man looked at her carefully.
Man: Tell me everything.
The blonde woman immediately interrupted.
Blonde Woman: Don't listen to her lies!
The man turned toward her.
Man: Then why are you so afraid of what she might say?
The room suddenly became silent.
The younger woman pointed toward a nearby table.
Young Woman: There is proof over there.
The man walked toward the table and found an envelope hidden underneath several papers.
He opened it and began reading.
