A Secret Hidden in Dallas

The Waitress Recognized Her Stolen Daughter

Clara: Please, just look at her eyes. She has my mother’s birthmark behind her right ear.

Richard: Stand up right now. You are making a massive scene in front of everyone.

Clara: I don't care about a scene! That's my daughter, Lily!

Richard: Her name is Maya, and she is my legally adopted daughter. Keep your hands off her!

Clara: Adopted? How could you adopt a child who was stolen from a mother in recovery?

Manager Mark: Clara! What on earth is going on over here? Why are you screaming at Mr. Vance?

Clara: Mark, look at her! This is the baby I grieved for three years ago!

Manager Mark: Get back to the kitchen immediately before I call security. Mr. Vance is one of our VIP clients.

Richard: No, Mark. Don't send her away. I want answers just as much as she does.

Clara: Answers? You took my child!

Richard: I paid over fifty thousand dollars to a licensed adoption agency in Austin. We have full legal custody, signed by a judge!

Clara: The hospital staff told me she went into cardiac arrest two hours after birth. They never even let me hold her body!

Richard: That's impossible. The paperwork says the biological mother surrendered her rights voluntarily at the clinic.

Clara: I never signed anything! I was unconscious after emergency surgery!

Richard: My wife and I spent three years raising this girl. You can't just walk up with a water pitcher and claim she's yours!

Clara: I am her mother! Look at how she held my hand!

Richard: Lots of kids call women 'Mama'. It doesn't prove anything in a court of law.

Clara: I still have the blanket from the delivery room. I have the medical records showing I gave birth on October 14th!

Richard: October 14th? The adoption papers say she was born on October 20th in Houston.

Clara: They altered the birth certificates! Don't you see what happened?

Richard: My lawyer handles all of our family business. If there's a fraud here, my family was scammed too!

Clara: A scam? You got a child, and I spent three years crying over an empty crib!

Richard: Pull yourself together. If what you're saying is true, someone committed a felony.

Clara: I don't care about felonies! I want my baby girl back!

Richard: You think you can just take her from a stable home? I have a multi-million dollar estate and a legal team on retainer.

Clara: Money won't hide the truth, Mr. Vance!

Richard: We are going to my lawyer's office right now. You are coming with us.

Clara: I'm not letting her out of my sight again.

Manager Mark: Clara, if you leave your shift right now, you are fired!

Clara: Keep the job. I'm getting my daughter back.
