The Confrontation In The Hall

When A Cold Mother Disowned Her Son, Justice Stepped In

Victoria marched into the nursery and grabbed the baby from his crib.

Ethan cried louder because he felt his mother's sudden harsh energy.

Clara: Please let me hold him, Mrs. Vance.

Victoria: Get out of my way right now, Clara!

Victoria carried the infant down the curved staircase toward the grand hall.

Her voice echoed angrily against the high pristine white walls.

Victoria: I am sick and tired of this ruined lifestyle!

She stood near the framed flag artwork holding the crying baby carelessly.

Victoria: He was brought into this world just to trap me!

Clara: Please hold him safely, Mrs. Vance, he is slipping!

Victoria thrust her arms forward in a sudden burst of crazy anger.

The wrapped blanket began to fall rapidly toward the hard marble floor.

Clara threw her body forward across the slippery polished white tiles.

Clara: No! I got you!

She slid on her knees and caught the falling newborn securely.

Clara pulled Ethan tight against her chest as her heart pounded hard.

The infant gasped for air and cried softly against her apron.

Clara: Ethan! What is wrong with you, Mrs. Vance?!

Victoria: Do not ever raise your voice at me in this house!

Victoria stepped forward with her face twisted in pure hatred.

Victoria: You are nothing but hired help in this family!

Clara: You almost let your own tiny baby fall today!

Victoria: He is not my responsibility, and neither are you!

At that exact moment, the heavy front doors swung wide open.

David stood on the threshold holding his black leather portfolio folder.

He had forgotten key legal files for his morning board meeting.

The scene in the living room made his blood run completely cold.

He saw Clara weeping on the floor while clutching his crying son.

He saw his wife standing over them with an arrogant sneer.

David: What is going on in my house right now?

Victoria turned around quickly and tried to change her harsh tone.

Victoria: David! The maid lost her balance and dropped things!

Clara: That is not true, Mr. Vance, she almost dropped Ethan!

David felt pure rage surge through every muscle in his body.

He strode rapidly across the marble floor with fiery determination.

David: Get away from him right now, Victoria!

Victoria gasped in shock as her husband stepped directly between them.

Victoria: How dare you take her word over mine, David!

David: I saw the terror in my son's eyes just now.

Victoria: You are ruining our reputation over a silly mistake!

David: You have no heart, and you have no soul.

David turned his back on his wife without showing any hesitation.

He dropped heavily to his knees on the cold marble floor.
