The sound of loud sirens began echoing outside the large glass windows of the Dallas home.
Victoria turned toward the front entrance, but Mark moved quickly to block her path entirely.
He stood firm in front of the massive dark oak doors, holding the evidence tight.
Lily and Ethan stayed close near the sofa, holding hands while watching their father stand tall.
Two uniformed police officers pushed open the heavy front doors and stepped into the tall foyer.
A detective in a dark suit followed closely behind them, flashing an official silver badge.
Mark: Officers, this woman has committed grand fraud and stolen from my children's inheritance trust.
Victoria: This is a massive misunderstanding between a husband and wife!
Detective: Ma'am, please keep your hands where we can see them clearly.
Lily: She took Mommy's papers and hid them in the drawer!
Detective: We have a warrant based on the financial audit filed earlier this morning, sir.
The officers stepped forward and placed heavy metal handcuffs firmly around Victoria's wrists behind her back.
She struggled briefly, her face red with anger as she glared at Mark and the kids.
Mark looked her straight in the eyes without a single trace of hesitation or doubt left.
Mark: You are going straight to federal prison for what you have done to us.
Victoria: You will regret this day, Mark!
Mark: Never step foot in Texas again after you serve your time.
The officers led Victoria out the front entrance as the heavy oak doors shut behind them.
The huge living room instantly felt lighter, quieter, and filled with a long-awaited sense of peace.
Mark walked over to his children, kneeling down on the polished floor to hug them tight.
Mark: You are safe now, my babies.
Lily: Is she really gone forever, Daddy?
Mark: Yes, sweetie, no one is ever going to hurt or threaten our family again.
He held his kids close as sunlight streamed brightly through the giant windows of their home.
