While Brenda stood trembling in rage, Arthur pulled out another set of bank files from his folder, handing them directly to Mark.
Arthur: Mark, while I was pulling up the prenuptial terms, my team ran a quick audit on the household expense account as you requested last night.
Mark: And what did you find?
Arthur: Over eighty thousand dollars has been transferred out of Lily's college trust fund over the last six months.
Mark: What?! Lily's trust fund?!
Brenda: That... that was an investment! I was investing in a boutique business with my sister!
Mark: You stole from my motherless daughter's inheritance?!
Brenda: It wasn't stealing! I was going to put it back as soon as the business made a profit!
Arthur: Wire transfers show the funds were routed directly into personal checking accounts and offshore betting accounts registered under your sister's name.
Mark: You dirty, lying parasite!
Brenda: Mark, listen to me! I was drowning in old debt before I met you! People were threatening me! I had no choice!
Mark: You had a choice to be honest! You had a choice to treat my child with love! Instead, you robbed her and hit her!
Brenda: I can fix this! Just give me a few months! I'll pay back every single cent!
Mark: You won't have a few months. You have thirty minutes to pack your personal clothes and get off my property.
Brenda: You're kicking me out on the street?! Like a dog?!
Mark: You treated my daughter like trash on the street ten minutes ago. You're lucky I don't let the police drag you out in handcuffs right now.
Arthur: Actually, Mark, the police are already outside. I took the liberty of dispatching an officer based on the video evidence of the assault.
Brenda: You called the cops on your own wife?!
Mark: You stopped being my wife the moment you raised your hand against Lily.
