Lies on the Marble Floor

Billionaire Throws Fiancee Out After Hidden Camera Proves Maid Saved His Daughter

Victoria smoothed down the front of her expensive emerald blazer, trying to summon a calm smile, but her manicured fingers twitched nervously.

Victoria: Patrick, honey, you're stressed from your flight. Let the security guards handle this trash. She grabbed Lily and shook her!

Patrick: Is that the lie you're going with?

Victoria: It isn't a lie! I walked in and caught her red-handed! She is jealous of my status, jealous of our upcoming wedding, and taking it out on a sweet little girl!

Elena: Mr. Sterling, I swear on my life, that isn't what happened. Lily was leaning over the second-floor banister trying to reach her toy plane.

Victoria: Don't speak to my fiance, you peasant!

Patrick: Let her talk, Victoria. In fact, you don't say another word until I ask you a question.

Victoria's eyes narrowed, a sharp spark of irritation cracking through her polished facade.

Victoria: You're taking the word of hired help over your future wife? Have you lost your mind?

Patrick: Lily, baby, come to Daddy.

The little girl scrambled up from the cold floor and leaped into Patrick's arms, burying her tear-streaked face in his neck.

Lily: Daddy, my plane fell... and my shoes slipped on the wood. Miss Victoria pushed me toward the edge because she was mad at my mess!

Victoria: She's four years old, Patrick! She's confused! I was downstairs in the kitchen making tea when I heard her scream!

Elena: That is not true, ma'am. You were standing right there on the landing. You were holding your phone, screaming at someone about money.

Victoria: How dare you make up such slanderous garbage! Patrick, call the police right now! She is trying to break up our family!

Patrick held his daughter tightly with one arm, using his thumb to gently wipe away the tear stains on her cheeks. He looked down at Elena, who was still kneeling, trembling with shame and fear.

Patrick: Elena, stand up. You don't kneel in this house. Not for anyone.

Elena: I... I didn't want anything bad to happen to Lily. She's like my own child. I would never let anything harm her.

Victoria: Oh, save the pathetic sob story! You work for minimum wage, sweeping floors! You don't have a say in this family's estate!

Patrick: That's where you're completely wrong, Victoria. Elena has been here longer than you've known my name.

Victoria: And that means nothing! I am your equal! My father is a partner in your firm! We signed our prenup negotiations last week!

Patrick: You think money gives you the right to treat human beings like garbage?

Victoria: I treat people according to what they are worth! Now fire her, Patrick, or our wedding is off!

Victoria crossed her arms, confident that her threat would make the billionaire back down immediately.

Patrick: You really want to play that card right now?

Victoria: I am dead serious. Choose right now: your loyal fiancee or a dispensable maid.

Patrick let out a cold, humorless laugh that made the hair on the back of Victoria's neck stand up.

Patrick: You made this decision remarkably easy for me.
