Victoria lunged forward, trying to grab Patrick's arm with both hands, tears of pure desperation spilling over her eyes.
Victoria: Patrick, please! Think about our reputation! Think about the charity gala this weekend! The press will tear us apart!
Patrick: I don't give a damn about the press, Victoria. You tried to murder my four-year-old child.
Victoria: That's an outrageous accusation! No court in this country will convict me based on an accidental stumble!
Patrick: We will let the district attorney decide that. My legal team already has the cloud backup. The detectives are on their way to this mansion as we speak.
The word "detectives" hit Victoria like a physical blow. She stumbled backward, clutching her throat.
Victoria: You called the police on me? Your own fiancee?
Patrick: You stopped being my fiancee the moment you pushed my daughter.
Patrick reached into his suit pocket, pulled out the signed prenuptial agreement copies they had reviewed with lawyers earlier that morning, and tore the thick stack of papers cleanly down the middle.
Victoria: Stop! That prenup guarantees my family's firm three million dollars in bridge financing!
Patrick: Your family gets nothing. Your father's firm will face a full forensic audit tomorrow morning for embezzling funds from my corporate account.
Victoria: You wouldn't dare... you'll ruin us! We will lose our house, our cars, everything!
Patrick: Then you better start packing boxes. Because I am pulling every single dollar of investment out of your family's hands by five o'clock.
Elena stood silently near the front door, holding Lily tightly against her chest. The little girl was watching Victoria with wide, innocent eyes.
Lily: Daddy, is Miss Victoria going away forever?
Patrick: Yes, sweetheart. She is never coming back inside our home ever again.
Victoria's expression warped from desperate pleading into ugly, venomous spite. She pointed a trembling finger at Elena.
Victoria: You ruined everything! You think you're going to take my place? You think he'll ever look at a scullery maid with grease on her fingers?
Elena: I don't want his money, Miss Victoria. I just wanted this little girl to live.
Victoria: Liar! You're an opportunistic snake who plotted this whole thing to secure a fat bonus!
Patrick: That is enough out of your mouth!
Patrick stepped directly between Victoria and Elena, his towering six-foot-two frame casting a dark shadow over the blond woman.
Patrick: Elena has more honor, more grace, and more humanity in her little finger than you and your entire family will ever possess.
Victoria: You're making the biggest mistake of your life, Patrick Sterling!
Patrick: The only mistake I made was letting a monster sleep under my roof.
Victoria lunged toward the console table to grab her designer handbag, but Patrick blocked her path with an outstretched arm.
Patrick: Leave it. Everything in this house was bought with my money.
Victoria: My phone! My car keys!
Patrick: The car is registered under my corporate fleet. You came here with nothing, and you leave with nothing.
