Evelyn pulled her hand back, but Julian maintained a tight grip on her slender wrist.
Julian: You are being completely unreasonable right now, Mom. Just sign the deed transfer.
Evelyn: You are hurting my wrist, Julian! Release me this instance!
Julian: Not until your name is written on every single one of these designated lines.
A small tear escaped her left eye, tracing a slow path down her withered cheek.
Evelyn: Why are you doing this to me? I gave you everything growing up.
Julian: You gave everything to Marcus while I worked eighty hours every week building my career!
Evelyn: We loved both of you equally! Your father never favored one over the other!
Julian: That is a complete lie and you know it deep down inside your heart!
He pushed the stack of white paper closer, pressing the pen directly against her hand.
Julian: The doctor bills for your heart treatments are piling up higher every month.
Evelyn: I have enough savings in the local bank to cover my own medical expenses.
Julian: The bank accounts are practically empty because of your recent hospital stays in town.
Evelyn gasped softly, realizing Julian had gained access to her personal financial records somehow.
Evelyn: Did you look through my personal desk drawers while I was sleeping last weekend?
Julian: I am your eldest son, and it is my duty to manage your failing estate.
Evelyn: You had no legal or moral right to pry into my private bank statements!
Julian: If you do not sign this house over to me, the hospital will take it!
Evelyn: The hospital cannot seize my primary home for regular monthly care payments!
Julian: They can put a legal lien on it and force a foreclosure sales auction!
His voice echoed loudly off the white crown molding lining the high ceiling of the room.
Evelyn felt a sharp pain in her chest as stress washed over her frail body.
She began crying softly, her body shaking as she sat trapped in the wooden rocking chair.
Julian: Crying will not change the reality of your mounting debt, mother. Sign it now!
Evelyn: Please leave me alone... I need to sit here and catch my breath.
Julian: We are finishing this legal business right now before anyone else shows up today.
He grabbed her fingers again, forcing her hand down toward the signature line at the bottom.
Evelyn: God help me... please someone help me right now!
Julian laughed bitterly, completely unbothered by his elderly mother's obvious physical and mental distress.
Julian: Nobody is coming to rescue you from your own financial foolishness, Mom.
He pressed the pen tip onto the white paper, forcing her hand to move slightly forward.
Evelyn squeezed her eyes shut tightly, feeling entirely defenseless against her own son's anger.
