The Secret Basement

Mommy Don't Marry Him He Killed My Real Dad

Bride: Where is this place, Lily? Tell me where your dad was kept!

Lily: An old warehouse near the New Jersey docks. Building forty-two!

Groom: That's absurd! I don't even own property in New Jersey!

Bride: You bought a commercial property in New Jersey three years ago under your shell company, Mark! I saw the tax forms on your desk last month!

Groom: That was an investment property for the company!

Bride: You lied to me about everything! The car accident, his body being cremated before I could see him, all of it!

Lily: He used my dad's secret life insurance policy to pay off the warehouse guards!

Bride: The two million dollar life insurance... Mark, you were the sole executor of Michael's will!

Groom: I managed the estate because you were too grief-stricken to handle it!

Bride: No, you managed it so you could steal every penny while keeping the real owner locked in a cage!

Lily: Mommy, please hurry! The guards are still at the building, they might move him!

Groom: Nobody is going anywhere! Guards, lock the church doors right now!

Bride: Don't you dare touch those doors! Everyone in this church, listen to me!

The guests began muttering loudly, reaching for their phones. Mark’s two personal bodyguards stepped forward, looking hesitant and nervous.

Groom: I pay your salaries! Secure the room and get that girl's envelope!

Bodyguard: Sir, we aren't getting involved in a murder case. This is crazy.

Groom: You coward! Do as I say or you're fired!

Bride: Nobody is touching this little girl! Step away from her!

Lily: Look at his coat pocket! He has the key to the basement lock right there!

Groom: Shut up, you little trash!

Mark lunged forward toward Lily, reaching out to snatch the wet paper, but Clara moved faster. She swung her heavy bouquet of white roses with all her strength, slamming it straight into Mark’s face. Rose petals exploded into the air, and Mark stumbled backward, clutching his nose.

Bride: THE WEDDING IS OFF!

Groom: You crazy bitch! You just destroyed your own family legacy!

Bride: My family legacy was built on my husband's love, not your bloody lies!

Lily: Look! He dropped his key ring!

A heavy brass key attached to a metal tag reading 'B-42' fell onto the polished marble floor with a sharp metallic clatter. Clara immediately ducked down and scooped it up.

Bride: 'B-42'... Warehouse forty-two. You kept this on your personal key ring!

Groom: Clara, give that back to me right now!

Bride: Someone call the state police! Tell them we have a hostage and murder confession at St. Jude's Chapel!
