Robert stepped out of his truck with a stern look on his face.
He walked directly toward Sarah's car and knocked gently on the window.
Sarah unlocked the door and stepped out into her father's warm embrace.
Robert: Are you okay, my sweet girl, did anyone hurt you physically?
Sarah: I am okay, Dad, but Mark tried to humiliate me completely.
Robert: He made the biggest mistake of his life doing that to you.
Robert wrapped his arm around Sarah's shoulders and led her up the walk.
They walked up the front steps toward the large mahogany front doors.
Robert did not bother knocking, he slammed his fist hard against the wood.
Mark opened the front door with a scowl spreading across his face.
Mark: Robert, what are you doing barging onto my private property like this?
Robert: You have five seconds to explain why my pregnant daughter was crying outside.
Evelyn: Mind your manners, Robert, this is a respectable family home estate!
Evelyn walked down the grand staircase holding a glass of iced tea.
Robert stepped firmly into the foyer, placing himself directly in front of Mark.
Robert: My daughter married a man, not a coward who hides behind his mother.
Mark: You do not understand the marital issues we are dealing with here!
Sarah: There is nothing to understand except your constant emotional cruel demands!
Robert: Sarah is packing her things, and she is coming home with me today.
Evelyn: If she leaves this house today, she will not get one cent!
Sarah: I do not want your money, Evelyn, I want my freedom back!
Mark looked surprised as Sarah walked right past him toward the hallway.
She marched straight into the master bedroom to gather her essential documents.
She grabbed her passport, medical records, and bank account certificates from the desk.
Mark followed her into the bedroom, his initial anger turning into sudden panic.
Mark: Sarah, wait, let us talk about this without your father involved!
Sarah: You had your chance to talk like an adult fifteen minutes ago.
Mark: We can work this out, you cannot just leave our marriage like this!
Sarah: You ruined this marriage the moment you treated me like a servant.
She zipped her suitcase shut with a sharp, decisive metallic pull.
Robert stood waiting in the doorway with his hands folded across his chest.
Robert: Move out of her way, Mark, or we will settle this legally.
Mark: You cannot take my unborn child away from this household, Robert!
Sarah: My lawyer will contact your legal team by tomorrow morning, Mark.
Evelyn watched from the living room as Sarah carried her bag downstairs.
Her arrogant expression faded slightly when she saw Sarah's calm determination.
Sarah did not shed a single tear as she walked out the door.
She knew her life was changing forever, but she felt entirely ready.
