David picked up the tiny vial using his handkerchief, holding it up to the bright kitchen lights. His jaw clenched so tight the muscle pulsed.
David: Concentrated pest toxin... Fatal if swallowed. My God, Victoria.
Victoria: That... that isn't mine! I've never seen that bottle before in my life!
Lily: You put it in the glass! I saw you open it with your own hands!
Victoria: The girl planted it! She hates me because I replaced her mother! She wants me gone so she can have you all to herself!
David: Lily didn't plant a sealed industrial chemical bottle in your purse, Victoria! You brought this into my home!
Victoria: David, please! You have to listen to me! I love you! Why would I ever hurt you?
David: Because the prenup states you get nothing if we divorce, but you get ten million dollars if I die while we are married!
Victoria's aggressive demeanor suddenly collapsed. She took another step back, looking toward the front entrance as if calculating her chances of running out the door.
Victoria: You can't prove anything! A child's word won't stand up in a court of law!
David: We have high-definition security cameras in the kitchen and pantry, Victoria. Installed them last month for home security.
Victoria's breath caught in her throat. She glanced up at the small black dome camera mounted in the corner of the high ceiling, her eyes wide with sudden horror.
David: Every single move you made in that pantry was recorded in full high-definition video with clear audio.
Victoria: David... please... let's talk about this privately. We can work this out. Don't ruin my life!
David: You tried to take my life away from my daughter!
David stepped forward, his expression cold and hard as steel, refusing to give her a single inch of mercy.
