For two full minutes, the room was dead silent except for the heavy breathing of Evelyn and the faint sound of the video playing. As the audio of Evelyn’s voice played from the tablet speaker—'You don't belong in my husband's trust fund'—the detective’s expression turned into ice.
Detective Carter: Officer Davis, place handcuffs on the woman.
