King Aldrich: Beast! Destroy him! I command you to tear him apart!
Driven mad by the King's magical control collar, the black dragon let out a desperate, pained roar and lunged forward once more. It opened its jaws wide, aiming to crush Caleb in a single bite.
Caleb: Come forth... Solarius!
Caleb thrust his right hand into the center of the glowing circle on the ground. A bright beam of concentrated light shot out from the sand, solidifying into the shape of a magnificent, double-edged broadsword. The hilt was carved from pure white marble, and the golden blade shone bright enough to rival the mid-day sun.
Lady Serena: The Sun Blade... the legendary weapon of the true high king!
King Aldrich: WHAT IS THAT?! HOW CAN A BEGGAR SUMMON THAT WEAPON?!
Guard Chief: My Lord, our weapons can't pierce magic like that! What are your orders?!
Caleb wrapped both hands around the hilt of the floating sword and pulled it cleanly from the golden aura. The moment his fingers touched the grip, a shockwave of holy magic rippled outward, blowing away the thick dust clouds and shattering the heavy iron chains hanging from the colosseum walls.
Caleb: You have suffered enough under his cruel spells, ancient beast.
With a single swift motion, Caleb swung the glowing blade through the air. A thin beam of golden light sliced cleanly through the air, striking the dragon's neck—not to kill it, but to shatter the heavy iron control collar wrapped tightly around its throat.
SFX: *CLANG!*
The thick black iron collar snapped into pieces, falling to the arena sand with a heavy thud. The dragon stopped instantly, its glowing red eyes shifting to a calm, deep amber color. The dark smoke around its jaws cleared, replaced by a gentle breeze.
Dragon: *Low, grateful rumble*
Lady Serena: He... he didn't kill the monster. He freed it!
Crowd Member: ALL HAIL THE TRUE KING! ALL HAIL CALEB!
Crowd Member 2: Down with the tyrant Aldrich!
The entire stadium burst into overwhelming cheers. The spectators, who had spent years living under King Aldrich's heavy taxes and brutal rule, stood up and began chanting Caleb's name. The sound shook the very foundations of the ancient stone arena.
King Aldrich: Traitors! All of you! Guards, execute anyone who chants his name!
Guard Chief: My Lord... the guards are throwing down their spears. We cannot fight a divine blade.
King Aldrich: Cowards! I will kill him myself!
King Aldrich drew his dark steel rapier and leapt over the royal balcony railing, landing heavily on the dirt floor twenty feet below. His face was twisted with absolute rage, his eyes wide with desperate madness.
King Aldrich: You think a glowing sword makes you a king?! You are nothing but an orphan who got lucky!
