Victoria gasped as the sharp red liquid splattered across her dark wine dress.
She backed away toward the grand staircase with pure panic in her eyes.
Arthur did not flinch as he stepped through the spilled glass toward her.
Maya placed a hand on Arthur's arm to keep him from stepping closer.
Maya: Please do not hurt yourself on the broken glass, father.
Arthur: I am fine, my dear child, but this woman is finished today.
Victoria: You have no right to treat your legal wife this way, Arthur!
Victoria: I built this home with you and I manage this entire estate!
Arthur: You managed nothing except your own endless greed and cruel selfish desires!
Arthur pulled a thick white envelope out of his dark jacket pocket smoothly.
He held the document right in front of Victoria's trembling, pale face.
Victoria tried to look away, but Arthur held the paper directly in view.
Arthur: Do you recognize these private financial records from our bank account, Victoria?
Victoria: I have no idea what those boring financial papers are about, Arthur.
Arthur: These records prove you hid my daughter's adoption file five years ago!
Victoria: That is a complete lie invented by someone who hates me!
Arthur: My private investigator found the letters you sent to her former orphanage.
Maya gasped loudly as she listened to the truth unfolding in the hallway.
She remembered being moved from one foster home to another as a child.
She had always wondered why no family had ever come back for her.
Maya: You knew where I was all these years and never told him?
Victoria: I did what I had to do to protect our family's inheritance!
Arthur: You protected your own bank balance because you feared losing my fortune!
Victoria: You would have given everything to a lost child instead of me!
Arthur: She was a child, and you left her to struggle in poverty!
Arthur's voice boomed through the high ceilings of the massive Texas estate house.
Two other staff members gathered quietly at the end of the long dining room.
They watched in silence as the arrogant mistress of the home lost control.
Victoria backed up until her spine hit the heavy oak front entrance door.
She realized there was no escape from the legal evidence Arthur now held.
Victoria: We can talk about this in private without the staff watching us!
Arthur: There is nothing left to talk about between us ever again, Victoria.
Victoria: You cannot throw your legal wife out into the cold like this!
Arthur: You are not going out into the cold, you are going to prison.
