The afternoon sun beat down heavily on the polished travertine patio of the luxury mansion in Dallas, Texas.
Elena: Be careful near the water, please. The tiles are slippery today.
Victoria: Just keep pushing the stroller, Elena. You don’t need to tell me how to manage my own poolside terrace.
Elena: Yes, Mrs. Vance. I am just making sure the baby is safe.
Elena gripped the handle of the stroller, her knuckles white against the dark leather.
Victoria: He is fine. Stop acting so nervous all the time. It makes me uncomfortable.
Elena: I am sorry, Mrs. Vance. I will move him closer to the shade near the house.
Victoria: No, leave him right there while I check my phone.
A sudden gust of wind swept across the open courtyard, catching the light fabric of Victoria's green gown.
Elena: Mrs. Vance, watch out!
Victoria: Don't touch me!
Victoria jerked back, her elbow striking the side of the stroller with sharp force.
The stroller turned on its swivel wheels and rolled rapidly toward the unguarded edge of the deep pool.
Elena: No! Grab it!
Victoria: Oh my god!
Before anyone could reach it, the stroller tipped over the concrete lip and plunged into the dark blue water.
A heavy splash echoed off the tall stone walls of the estate.
Victoria: NO! CALL 911 RIGHT NOW! 🇺🇸
Elena: Hold on! I am getting him!
Without hesitation, Elena kicked off her shoes and jumped directly into the deep end of the pool.
The cold water enveloped her instantly as she kicked hard, diving toward the submerged infant below.
She reached into the dark water, her fingers wrapping around the child’s small shoulders just as he began to sink deeper.
Pulling him tight against her chest, Elena kicked toward the surface with all the strength left in her lungs.
She broke the surface, gasping for air as water poured from her clothes.
Elena: HE'S SAFE! I GOT HIM!
Heavy footsteps thundered across the patio as Victoria's husband rushed out through the open sliding glass doors.
Richard: What the hell happened out here?! What was that noise?!
Victoria: SHE PUSHED HIM IN! TEXAS POLICE ARE ON THEIR WAY!
Elena: What?! No! Mrs. Vance, you bumped into it!
Victoria: You intentionally threw my baby into the pool! Richard, she tried to drown our son!
Richard’s face turned bright red as he stormed over to the edge of the pool where Elena was pulling herself up onto the wet tiles.
Richard: You reckless, incompetent fool!
Before Elena could stand up straight, Richard swung his hand across her face, striking her hard across the cheek.
The impact knocked Elena back down onto the slippery stone deck, her knees scraping against the wet tiles.
Elena: Ah! Please, Mr. Vance, listen to me!
Richard: Shut up! You’re going to prison for this! You won’t get a dime from us, and you’re going straight to jail!
Elena wiped the blood and water from her lip, her hands trembling uncontrollably as she looked up at the couple standing over her.
Victoria: Get her out of my sight before the police get here!
Elena: THE CAMERA RECORDED EVERYTHING!
Richard froze, his arm still raised in the air.
Elena raised her shaking hand and pointed directly at the thick leafy ivy covering the exterior brick wall.
Nestled deep inside the green leaves, a tiny red LED light on a hidden security camera flashed steadily.
