The heavy oak double doors of the Dallas mansion swung open with a loud thud, shaking the crystal chandelier in the grand foyer. Arthur Vance stepped onto the polished white marble floor, his gray suit jacket slightly wrinkled from the frantic drive from his corporate office. His heart hammered against his ribs as he adjusted his silk tie, his eyes scanning the cavernous entrance hall in utter disbelief.
Arthur: WHAT ON EARTH IS HAPPENING IN MY HOUSE?!
The echoes of his voice had barely faded against the vaulted ceiling when a young fair-skinned woman in a sharp black domestic uniform rushed out from the side corridor. In her arms, she clutched a stack of thick legal folders stamped with official court seals. Right behind her was Evelyn, Arthur’s elegant brunette wife, wearing a crisp white dress that stood in stark contrast to the dark rage flushing her face.
Maria: MR. VANCE, PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THESE LEGAL DOCUMENTS!
Evelyn: ARTHUR DARLING, SHE'S LYING TO YOU!
Evelyn darted forward and grabbed the sleeve of Arthur’s tailored suit coat, her voice pitching up into a desperate screech. Arthur’s face hardened as he pulled his arm back forcefully, breaking her grip and pointing a stern finger directly at her face.
Arthur: STAY AWAY FROM MY SON RIGHT NOW!
Evelyn: YOU'D BELIEVE A NANNY OVER MORE INTEGRITY TO YOUR OWN WILL?!
Maria: These aren't just nanny notes, Mr. Vance! Look at the signatures! Look at the trust account numbers!
Evelyn turned on Maria, her eyes wide with fury as she gestured wildly at the paper in Maria’s hands. The air in the foyer turned thick with tension as Arthur snatched the top folder from Maria. He opened it, his eyes skimming over bank statements, birth certificates, and estate amendments bearing his late father's signature. Evelyn began pacing frantically across the marble floor, her high heels clicking loudly like a ticking clock.
Evelyn: MARIA IS PLANNING SPUR OF BOYS AND INHERITANCE TRUST FUND! THAT ACCOUNT BELONGS TO FAMILY BUSINESS!
Arthur: Shut up, Evelyn! Let me read this!
Maria: Your father left clear instructions before he passed, Mr. Vance. He knew what she was trying to do to the family business and your son's inheritance trust fund.
Evelyn: She forged those, Arthur! She’s trying to ruin us!
Arthur stood frozen in the center of the foyer, his eyes locked onto a single highlighted line on the third page of the legal file. His breath hitched as the truth of what had been happening behind his back for months finally began to unravel right before his eyes.
