FABLE

The Truth Exposed

The Groom Stopped The Wedding For A Missing Child

Mr. Sterling: We did what was necessary to protect our family's reputation and secure your executive position at the firm. Clara was a liability.

Marcus: A liability? She was the woman I loved! She died alone in a rented room because of your greed and cruelty!

Victoria: She was nobody! Marcus, look at me! I am your wife! Or at least, I will be as soon as you put those street kids down!

Marcus: I am not marrying you. I wouldn't marry you if you were the last woman on earth.

Victoria's jaw dropped. She stepped forward, her expensive veil brushing against the marble floor as she pointed a manicured finger directly at the young girl.

Victoria: You're throwing away a fifty-million-dollar partnership for a dead girl's bastard children?!

Marcus: They are my daughters!

A loud gasp echoed across the grand hall. Guests began pulling out their phones, recording the confrontation as Victoria's face turned white with embarrassment.

Victoria: Put those phones away! Turn them off right now!

Marcus: Let them record. Let every person in Dallas see what kind of monsters you and your father really are.

Mr. Sterling: Marcus, think carefully about your career. If you walk out that door, you will be ruined. You will have no job, no trust fund access, and no standing in this city.

Marcus: I built your tech division from scratch, Mr. Sterling. The patents are registered in my name, not your firm's. You have no leverage over me anymore.

Lily: Daddy... are we going to be okay?

Marcus: We're going to be better than okay, sweetheart. Nobody is ever going to hurt you or hide you again.

Marcus reached down, unpinned the expensive white rose boutonnieres from his lapel, and tossed it onto the marble floor at Victoria's feet.

Marcus: The wedding is off.
