The man stayed beside the little girl as the officers spoke with the woman.
Man: You don't have to be afraid anymore.
The girl wiped her tears.
Little Girl: I tried to tell everyone before.
Man: I'm listening now.
She pointed toward the hallway and explained that she had seen something that frightened her.
The man listened without interrupting.
The officers also took note of what she said.
The woman finally realized that the truth could no longer be hidden.
Woman: Please, let me explain.
Officer: You will have an opportunity to explain everything.
The officers escorted her toward the entrance while the man continued comforting the little girl.
She looked back one final time.
Little Girl: I just wanted someone to believe me.
Man: I believe you.
The mansion became completely silent.
And that day, the little girl learned that telling the truth—even when she was afraid—could finally bring the adults around her to listen.
