Silence hung heavy over the foyer. Marcus stared at his wife, his face completely drained of color.
Marcus: What... what was that, Evelyn?
Evelyn: Marcus, that's fake! It's an AI voice generator! She edited that on her phone!
Officer Davis: Ma'am, that file was recorded live in real-time on a continuous track. You can't fake a live background stream like that on the spot.
Clara: She didn't know I left my phone on the kitchen counter with the mic set to high sensitivity, Mr. Vance.
Marcus: You said... you said if I left you, you would get nothing because of the prenup?
Evelyn: Marcus, darling, listen to me! She set me up! I love our baby!
Marcus: You pushed our daughter off a twenty-foot balcony to frame the maid?
Evelyn: No! It was an accident! The railing was loose!
Officer Davis: A minute ago you said Clara threw her. Now you say it was an accident?
Evelyn: I was panicked! I didn't know what I was saying!
Marcus: Officer, uncuff Clara right now.
Officer Davis unclipped the metal cuffs from Clara's wrists. Clara lowered her hands, rubbing her red skin as she stood up straight.
Clara: Thank you, Officer.
Marcus: Clara... I don't even know what to say. I was about to send you to prison.
Clara: You were ready to destroy my life without a single thought, Mr. Vance. You believed her without looking at a shred of evidence.
Marcus: I was protecting my daughter!
Clara: No. You were protecting your pride.
Evelyn: Marcus, please! Talk to me in private! Send these officers away!
Officer Davis: Mrs. Vance, step forward and place your hands behind your back. You are under arrest for attempted child endangerment and filing a false police report.
Evelyn: Don't touch me! Marcus, tell them who I am! Call our attorney! Call Mr. Rothschild!
Marcus: I'm calling my divorce attorney, Evelyn. Not yours.
