Secrets Under the Marble

The Maid Saved His Son, But the Fallen Gold Button Revealed a Deadly Betrayal

Arthur: Why... why is my late wife’s face inside a hidden button pendant? Who are you really, Clara?

Clara: I didn't come to this estate just to clean your floors, Mr. Sterling.

Arthur: Answer me! How do you have a picture with Victoria? She passed away seven years ago in that car accident!

Clara: It wasn't an accident. And you know it wasn't.

Arthur: Keep your voice down! The guests are watching us!

Clara: Let them watch! Victoria was my older sister. She left her entire inheritance, her private trust fund, and her thirty percent stake in Sterling Enterprises to Noah before she died.

Arthur: That's private family financial business! How do you know about her legal will?

Clara: Because I was named the trustee in case of her death until Noah turned twenty-one! But someone hid the legal documents and forged her signature on a full asset transfer!

Arthur: You're lying! Victoria loved me! She transferred her shares to me voluntarily!

Clara: She discovered you were secretly liquidating her estate to pay off offshore gambling debts to the Vance family! That button belonged to Julian Vance!

Arthur: Security! Remove this crazy woman from the property right now!

Two heavy security guards stepped forward, grabbing Clara firmly by both arms. She didn't fight them, keeping her head held high while blood dripped from her fingertips onto the pristine marble.

Noah: Let go of Auntie Clara! Daddy, stop them!

Arthur: What did you just call her, Noah? Who taught you that name?

Noah: Mommy showed me her picture in her old diary before she died! She told me if anything ever happened to her, Auntie Clara would come find me!

Arthur: That's enough! Take the boy upstairs to his room immediately!

Clara: You can't hide the truth forever, Arthur! Julian Vance is here tonight to claim what you promised him—Noah's trust fund!

Julian: YOU MISSED.

A tall man in a dark navy suit stepped out from the shadowy doorway near the grand entrance, flanked by two armed men in black suits. The heavy oak doors slammed shut behind him, locking from the inside.

Julian: You were supposed to let the glass take care of the boy, Arthur. Now things get complicated.

Arthur: Julian? What are you doing? This wasn't the plan!

Julian: The plan was for you to collect the life insurance policy on your son to clear your hundred-million-dollar debt to me. But your maid ruined everything.
