Judge Harris signaled to the clerk, who tapped a laptop screen. A massive television monitor on the courtroom wall flickered to life, displaying high-definition video of the Sterling mansion foyer.
The courtroom went dead silent as the video played. The high-angle view clearly showed Victoria holding the baby near the balcony railing. The audio played softly through the court speakers.
Victoria (on video): "If I can't have this life, nobody can!"
The entire room gasped as Victoria explicitly leaned forward and dropped the swaddled baby over the wooden railing.
Arthur: "WHAT?!"
Arthur stood up from his chair, his eyes wide with horror as he watched the monitor. On the screen, Elena dove across the floor, sliding on her knees and catching baby Maya inches before the baby hit the hard marble ground.
Arthur: "You... you dropped her... You intentionally dropped my daughter?!"
Victoria: "Arthur, no! It was an accident! The video is fake! It's edited!"
Arthur: "You stood on those stairs and looked me in the eye! You told me Elena tried to kill her!"
Victoria: "Listen to me, Arthur!"
Arthur: "DON'T TOUCH ME! 🇺🇸"
Arthur shoved Victoria's hand away, trembling with pure rage. Judge Harris slammed her wooden gavel down three times, the heavy thuds echoing through the courtroom.
Judge Harris: "Order in the court! Sit down, Mr. Sterling!"
Lawyer Vance: "Your Honor, that is not all. We also present Exhibit B: certified DNA analysis and adoption records from the State Department."
Arthur: "DNA records? What are you talking about?"
Lawyer Vance: "Mr. Sterling, baby Maya is not your biological daughter. Nor is she Victoria's. Victoria purchased fake birth documents six months ago from an unlicensed foreign agency to meet the deadline for your father's forty million dollar trust fund."
Arthur turned toward Victoria, his jaw dropping in absolute shock. The wealthy CEO looked completely shattered, his voice barely a whisper.
Arthur: "Is this true, Victoria? Is any of this true?"
Victoria: "Arthur... I did it for us! I did it for our future!"
Arthur: "You lied to me about my own child?! You stole a baby for money?!"
Victoria: "It was forty million dollars, Arthur! We needed that money!"
Judge Harris: "Silence! Bailiffs, secure the child immediately!"
Two armed court officers stepped forward, gently taking the baby carrier from Victoria's trembling hands. Victoria began to scream hysterically, flailing her arms as the bailiffs pulled her wrists behind her back.
Victoria: "Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am?! Arthur, tell them! Help me!"
Arthur: "I'm calling my divorce lawyer. You're going to rot in prison."
