Exposing the Stepmother

The Poisoned Glass in the Dallas Mansion

Sirens wailed in the distance, their sharp cries growing louder as emergency vehicles sped through the gated Dallas community. Diane struggled against Marcus's grip, her polished facade completely shattered as she kicked and screamed against the marble walls.

Diane: "You can't prove anything! A child's word won't hold up in a court of law!"

Marcus: "The green residue on the floor is already being preserved. And your text messages tell the whole story."

Diane: "Those texts are fabricated! I was hacked!"

Marcus: "Save it for your defense attorney, Diane. You're done."

Lily: "Daddy, the police are outside! I see the red lights!"

Marcus: "Open the front door for them, sweetie. Keep your eyes on me, not her."

The heavy double doors swung open, and four armed Dallas police officers rushed into the grand foyer, their boots thudding loudly against the stone. The lead officer took in the scene instantly—the shattered crystal glass, the smoking toxic puddle, the trembling young girl, and Marcus holding down a frantic, screaming woman.

Police Officer: "Sir! Step back and put your hands where we can see them!"

Marcus: "Officers, my name is Marcus Vance. My wife just attempted to poison me in front of my daughter."

Diane: "He's insane, Officer! He attacked me! Look at my wrist!"

Lily: "She tried to make my daddy drink poison! Look at the floor!"

Police Officer: "Ma'am, stop struggling and turn around right now!"

Diane: "Get your hands off me! Do you have any idea who my family is?!"

Police Officer: "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law."

The heavy metallic click of handcuffs echoed through the high-ceilinged foyer. Diane screamed in frustration as the officers secured her wrists behind her back, dragging her toward the front entrance of the Dallas residence while she hurled curses and empty threats into the night air.

Diane: "You won't get away with this, Marcus! I will take every penny you have in the divorce!"

Marcus: "There won't be a divorce settlement in prison, Diane."

Diane: "You ruined my life!"

Marcus: "You ruined your own life the moment you targeted my child's father."

Police Officer: "Move along, ma'am. Watch your head getting into the car."
