Victoria: Let go of me! Are you crazy, Julian? You're laying hands on your own sister for this nobody?
Julian: You stopped being my sister the second you decided to steal from our father and abuse my wife!
Clara: Julian, wait... look at this paper!
Clara's voice was shaking so hard she could barely hold the yellowed sheet of paper. Julian paused near the front door, his hand still holding Victoria's wrist tightly. Victoria struggled against his grip, her face red with anger and embarrassment.
Victoria: That paper means nothing! It's junk from the old safe!
Julian: Shut up, Victoria!
Julian looked down at his wife, his tone softening immediately.
Julian: Clara, what is it? What did you find?
Clara: It's a handwritten addendum from your dad... signed three days before he was admitted to the hospital. Look at the date.
Julian shifted his hold on Victoria, keeping her pinned against the wall near the archway, and squinted at the document in Clara's hand.
Julian: November 14th... that was the night before he had his stroke.
Victoria: He was out of his mind! He was on medication! Any lawyer in Dallas will get that thrown out of court in five minutes!
Clara: He wasn't out of his mind, Victoria. He knew exactly what you were doing with the family business account.
Victoria: You don't know anything about our business! You worked at a diner when Julian met you!
Julian: And she has more honor in her little finger than you've had your entire life!
Julian pulled his phone out with his free hand and rapidly dialed a number on speakerphone. The dialing tone echoed through the marble entryway.
Lawyer Marcus: Julian? Did you reach the estate?
Julian: Marcus, I'm at the house right now. Victoria just physically assaulted Clara. And we have the original signed deed addendum right here in Clara's hands.
Lawyer Marcus: Good God. Do not let her leave the premises, Julian. The police and the forensic auditors are already on their way. We verified the offshore transfers two hours ago.
Victoria's face drained of all color. Her arrogant posture crumbled in an instant.
Victoria: Offshore transfers? What are you talking about? Marcus, you work for the Montgomery family!
Lawyer Marcus: I work for the estate trust, Victoria. And as of eight o'clock this morning, you are no longer a beneficiary or a trustee. You're a suspect in a federal fraud investigation.
Victoria: No... no, this is a mistake! Julian, tell him to stop!
Julian: You brought this on yourself, Victoria. You spent five years treating Clara like garbage because she didn't come from wealth. You thought you could push her around forever.
Clara: I never wanted your money, Victoria. I just wanted Julian to have what his father left him.
Victoria: You fake little snake! You planned this whole thing!
Victoria suddenly lunged forward, clawing at Clara's face with her sharp fingernails. Julian shoved Victoria back against the wall with full force, stepping directly between them.
Julian: Touch her again and I won't wait for the police!
Victoria: You're choosing her over your own blood? Over your family's legacy?
Julian: You destroyed this family the day you tried to rob Dad on his deathbed.
Outside, the faint sound of sirens began to echo down the long, private driveway of the Dallas mansion.
