The Broken Trust

The Secret Deed to the Dallas Estate

Victoria: Sirens? Julian, call them off! Do you have any idea what this will do to the Montgomery name in this city?

Julian: The Montgomery name was ruined when you used the company charity fund to cover your personal gambling debts in Las Vegas.

Victoria gasped, her eyes darting toward the front door as the red and blue light reflections began to flash against the high glass windows.

Victoria: Who told you about Vegas?

Clara: Your accountant did, Victoria. When he realized he was going to take the fall for your grand larceny, he came straight to us.

Victoria: That coward! I paid him a million dollars to keep his mouth shut!

Julian: So you admit it? You paid off an accountant using estate funds?

Victoria instantly bit her lip, realizing she had just confessed in front of two witnesses and a open phone line.

Lawyer Marcus: I recorded that statement, Victoria. The police officers entering the driveway right now are federal marshals accompanying local Dallas police.

Victoria: Marcus, wait! We can make a deal! I'll sign over my shares of the real estate firm!

Julian: You don't have any shares left to sign over. Dad revoked them all in the codicil Clara is holding.

The heavy front doors swung open, and three uniformed police officers along with two federal agents stepped into the foyer. Their polished boots clicked against the marble.

Officer Ramirez: Victoria Montgomery?

Victoria: This is a private family matter! Get out of my house!

Officer Ramirez: Ma'am, this is no longer your property. We have a warrant for your arrest issued by the State of Texas for wire fraud, embezzlement, and grand larceny.

Victoria: Warrant? You can't arrest me! Do you know who my lawyers are?

Officer Ramirez: Turn around and place your hands behind your back, ma'am.

An officer stepped forward, grabbing Victoria's arms and turning her toward the wall. The cold metal handcuffs clicked loudly around her wrists.

Victoria: Julian! Tell them to stop! Clara, please! You're a woman, tell them how hard it is! We can fix this!

Clara: You slapped me, Victoria. You pushed me onto the floor in my own home and called me trash. You didn't show me any mercy, and you showed your dying father no respect.

Victoria: You ruined my life!

Julian: You ruined your own life the moment you greedily tried to strip everything away from us.

The officers began escorting Victoria toward the door. As she passed Clara, she glared with pure hatred, but Clara didn't flinch. She held Julian's hand tightly, standing tall on the marble floor that now officially belonged to them.
