The room went dead silent except for the harsh sound of heavy breathing and the heavy dripping of liquid off the edge of the table. Victoria's face drained of color for a fraction of a second before her expression hardened into pure venom.
Victoria: SHUT YOUR MOUTH RIGHT NOW!
Mark: ARE YOU TRYING TO MURDER MY FAMILY?!
Victoria: Mark, don't be ridiculous! She's just a child making up crazy stories!
Mark dropped to his knees on the cold marble, pulling his sobbing daughter tightly into his arms. The toddler buried her face into his shirt, her little body trembling uncontrollably as tears streamed down her cheeks.
Maya: SHE PUT THE POISON IN YOUR CUP!
Mark: Tell me exactly what you saw, sweetheart. Take a deep breath.
Maya: I saw her in the kitchen... she opened a small glass bottle and poured clear drops into the green juice! She said if I told you, she would lock me in the basement!
Victoria: She is lying! Why would you listen to a toddler over your own sister-in-law?
Mark: Because my daughter doesn't lie, Victoria. And you've been obsessing over my late wife's life insurance and the family trust fund for months.
Victoria: I was trying to help this family! I brought that drink to help you relax!
Mark: Then pick up one of those broken pieces and drink what's left on the floor.
Victoria backed away slowly, her posture stiffening as her eyes darted toward the grand front entryway.
Victoria: I am not going to humiliate myself by drinking off the floor!
Mark: You won't do it because you know exactly what's in that liquid.
Mark stood up with terrifying calm, his eyes fixed on Victoria with pure rage as he reached for his phone to call his criminal attorney and the police.
