Unmasking The Gold Digger

The Steel Door She Locked to Take It All

Victoria: You cannot throw me out! We have a valid marriage certificate! Under state property laws, I am entitled to this residence!

Daniel: Did you forget the prenuptial agreement you signed three years ago, Victoria?

Victoria: That ridiculous paper is worthless! Any top divorce lawyer in the city will tear that prenup to shreds within five minutes!

Arthur: Not when clause fourteen explicitly states that any attempted financial fraud or physical endangerment voids all financial settlements instantly.

Victoria: You old vulture! You set me up from the day Daniel introduced me to you!

Daniel: My father tried to warn me about you. He told me you were running up secret corporate credit cards under secondary company accounts.

Victoria: I deserved that money! I gave up my career in interior design to host your boring corporate dinner parties!

Daniel: Your interior design business was three hundred thousand dollars in debt before I paid off your personal loans!

Toby: Dad, look at Grandpa's arm. It's all red and bruised.

Daniel knelt down beside Arthur, gently lifting his father's forearm to reveal four deep, purple fingerprint marks where someone had violently dragged him across the threshold.

Daniel: Did you do this to him, Victoria?

Victoria: He was resisting! He tried to smash the emergency vault glass to trigger the silent security alarm!

Daniel: Because he was terrified of you! You locked him in the dark with less than three hours of circulating oxygen!

Victoria: The safe has an intake valve! He wasn't going to die!

Daniel: The manual intake valve on that vintage model only opens from the exterior lever, which you left in the locked position!

Victoria's lips trembled as she glanced toward the open vault, finally understanding the catastrophic gravity of the evidence right in front of her.

Victoria: Daniel, please... I panicked. You know how stressed I've been with the charity gala preparations and the renovation budget...

Daniel: Don't dare blame your sickening greed on stress.

Victoria: We can fix this! We can go to marital counseling! I'll apologize to your father on my knees!

Arthur: Keep your apologies, Victoria. You made your intentions clear when you took my emergency nitroglycerin spray and slipped it into your purse.

Daniel: You took his heart attack rescue spray?

Daniel reached back into the purse on the marble table, rummaging through the inner zipper pocket until his fingers hit a small aluminum canister labeled with Arthur's name.

Daniel: You didn't just lock him in there. You wanted him to go into cardiac arrest before I walked through that door.

Victoria: No! No, Daniel, that's not true! I put it in my bag to keep it handy in case he needed it!

Daniel: While he was locked on the other side of an eight-inch steel door? How was he supposed to take it from inside your purse?

Victoria: You're twisting everything! You're making me sound like a monster!

Daniel: You are a monster. And your time in this house has officially run out.
