The Legal Battle For Justice

The Stepmother Dropped My Baby From The Tenth Floor

Elena: You can't do this to me! My lawyer will destroy all of you in court! I have rights under our marriage contract!

Detective Harrison: You have the right to remain silent, Mrs. Vance. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. Put her in the back of the cruiser.

The officers snapped cold metal handcuffs around Elena's wrists and led her crying and screaming out the front front doors of the mansion. Arthur stood near the doorway, watching the police car drive away into the morning light, feeling a massive weight lift off his chest.

Arthur: Clara... I don't even know how to begin to thank you.

Clara: You don't have to thank me, Mr. Vance. I love Lily like she was my own daughter. I couldn't let anything happen to her.

Arthur: You saved her life today. You risked your own safety to catch a falling baby on a stone floor.

Arthur walked over and gently took baby Lily into his arms, squeezing her tight against his heart. The baby girl rested her head on her father's shoulder, finally calm after the terrifying ordeal.

Arthur: I am calling my corporate lawyers right now. We are filing for an immediate annulment on grounds of criminal conduct, freezing all joint bank accounts, and revoking her access to any estate funds.

Clara: Will she be able to get out on bail?

Arthur: Not with that video evidence. The district attorney will ensure she is held without bail until trial. Attempted murder of an infant carries a life sentence in this state.

Two hours later, Arthur's personal legal counsel, Mr. Stanford, arrived at the mansion with a stack of legal documents and court filings.

Mr. Stanford: Mr. Vance, I have already contacted the district judge. Given the video proof, the judge signed an emergency restraining order and an order revoking all marital rights immediately.

Arthur: Good. Make sure the prenup is executed fully so she cannot claim a single penny of my late wife's life insurance or trust fund.

Mr. Stanford: Already done, sir. In fact, under state felony laws, anyone convicted of attempting to harm an heir forfeits all claims to spousal support or marital property entirely.

Arthur: She will rot in prison where she belongs.

Mr. Stanford: Absolutely, sir. Justice will be served swiftly.

Arthur signed the final legal documents on the foyer table, officially closing the door on Elena's dark presence in their lives forever.
