Elena: You cannot arrest me! You have no proof of anything! It's just her word against mine!
Arthur: You really think I am stupid, Elena? You think I don't know what you were up to?
Arthur grabbed Elena firmly by the arm and escorted her down the grand staircase, ignoring her loud complaints and struggles as he forced her down toward the main foyer where Clara was holding the phone.
Elena: Let go of my arm! You are hurting me!
Arthur: You lost all your rights the moment you put my child's life in danger!
Within ten minutes, the sharp sound of police sirens echoed down the suburban driveway. Two marked police cruisers pulled up outside the mansion, their red and blue lights flashing bright against the front windows. Detective Harrison walked into the grand foyer, accompanied by two armed officers.
Detective Harrison: Mr. Vance? We received an urgent emergency call regarding an attempted homicide of a minor.
Arthur: Detective, thank God you are here. My wife, Elena, just attempted to murder my one-year-old daughter by dropping her off the tenth-floor balcony.
Elena: That is an absolute lie, Officer! It was a minor slip-and-fall accident! The maid caught her, so nobody was even hurt! You have no grounds to detain me!
Detective Harrison: Ma'am, please keep your voice down while we assess the scene. Ma'am, step over here.
Clara: Detective, it was no accident! She explicitly said she wanted to get rid of Lily so she could take the inheritance money from the trust fund!
Elena: She is a liar! She wants to ruin my marriage so she can demand a raise!
Arthur: Detective Harrison, Elena thinks she got away with it because she assumed there were no witnesses besides Clara. But she forgot one tiny detail about this house.
Elena: What detail?! What are you talking about, Arthur?!
Arthur walked over to the mahogany wall control panel near the main hallway and pressed a security code into the touchscreen. A large monitor mounted on the foyer wall flickered to life, showing clear high-definition video feeds from multiple angles across the entire home.
Arthur: Last month, I installed state-of-the-art 4K security cameras on every single floor balcony and hallway, equipped with directional audio microphones for home security.
Elena's face drained of all color as she stared at the screen. Detective Harrison walked closer to the display monitor and pressed play on the recorded footage from ten minutes earlier.
Audio Speaker: "This brat is not family... if the child is gone, the prenup clause changes completely... GET OUT OF MY LIFE!"
The crisp, clear video showed Elena intentionally swinging baby Lily over the railing and deliberately opening her fingers to let the infant fall straight down into the foyer.
Detective Harrison: That is more than enough evidence for attempted first-degree murder. Handcuff her immediately, boys.
Elena: No! Wait! Please! I didn't mean it! I was stressed! Arthur, tell them to stop!
Arthur: I don't ever want to see your evil face again.
